Odaniel cancels visit

Maybe Gedeon is going with the silent commit idea so that he doesn't have to deal with what Kalis did last year... just a thought

    Completely different cases though.

  • You know you're in a good position in recruiting when you can turn down recruits of O'Daniel's caliber.

Don't think that's it, but anyone that can read between the lines can see he's almost definitely a Michigan commit. If you can read between the lines, Smith, Orndoff, and Gedeon all could be silents.

And maybe an unknown WR, which would make KoobJoe right after all! 8^D

After turning away not just Anzalone but also O'Daniel, that's exactly what I'm guessing.

    Seems to be the case..

i think we hear one of two things shortly from gedeon, either he is a commit already and just hasnt announced it or the coaches told him we are full also.

That's exactly what i'm thinking too... McCray seemed pretty sure they were taking 2 LB's, and he obviously felt like he was one of those 2. I have been wondering if they're turning away the other LB's simply for Levenberry. I don't see why they would tell McCray that and then sign 2 more LB's on top of him.

    Smith is not a silent

    Orndoff is not a silent

Edit: only say that because Orndoff has never visited as far as I can recall. And I don't think Smith would've jumped to commit after Ty didn't commit, knowing he'd be on campus this weekend.

Simply isnt even the worst poster here anymore

Simply isn't that bad. He's kind of like Pitbull. You would never tell your friends you like him, and you know he thinks he is way cooler than he really is, but sometimes you just find your head nodding when he says something no matter how much you don't want to do it...

I think you just took my post as it was intended. Everything's speculation, and nothing I've seen is solid. In spite of recent reports, you could make a strong case any of those recruits are silent or impending commits. Recruits and families often mislead the media.

I guess my point is that until a recruit goes public and commits, it doesn't mean anything. That's where I stand on this, and it's all I'm going to say on this development.

or just plain S.T.U.P.I.D, yeah I'll go with that one.

Don't be mad because Urbs is slacking. He was just on a cruise recently, and vacationed in Utah last week. Tell him to get to work.

  • Yeah i agree about not turning anyone away, but we should steadily be recruiting these guys. Lets say they do give a verbal, it's still not 100% until they sign on the dotted line, we shouldn't be burning these bridges with the other elite LB's that hold Michigan in high regards just in case someone does not want to come to Michigan. God forbid that happens. We should always stay a head of the game and be prepared for the worst.

completely fine with what he is doing. Hoke has it all wrong. He is getting kids Tress used to get to win B10 titles. Meyer is getting kids that win NC. Always a step behind. Good luck anyway.hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah. Had to stop got tired.

Head on back over to Buck Nuts for a drunken argument. We don't do that on this board. I mean, we drink, but we rarely argue.

Isn't that what happened with Reeves last year? We burned the bridge and tried to get back in at the last minute.

Why did you retards even go to nc game then? Should of just quit the year after winning the big ten. Oh wait you did by getting your sgit pushed in twice. The world would be a better place if ohio fell off the map and every buckeye had at least a speck of intelligence

The coaches continue to recruit guys they are interested in even if they're full at their position(s). These coaches are experienced and know that recruiting is always fluid. What they're doing is essentially telling these kids not to visit on their own dime right now. Unofficials aren't paid for by the university. If things change later in the year, then they'll encourage these kids to take an official visit which is paid for.

From the look O'Daniel's tweets, Reeves didn't take it as personally as he did.

Also, I think that Good Counsel and O'Daniel might even respect Michigan for it in the long run. Sucks to be rejected, but it will help O'Daniel that he is not being strung along as a backup plan without knowing it. Now he knows where he stands and can look towards his other options.

If I were Good Counsel, my opinion of Hoke goes up by this. Other coaches may have strung him along because it's good to have a backup plan.

  • Do we know that the coaches specifically told him not to visit or did they just tell him we're full at LB? The coaches told McGovern we're currently full at OL and he still ended up visiting so maybe it was O'Daniel's choice not to visit after the coaches told him that.

The coaches are professionals, so I agree with where you were going with your post. They aren't going to call up O'Daniel and say, "yo, hope you didn't book that ticket yet because we don't want you coming to campus." They likely told him they are pretty sure the spots will be full before he decides, so if he wants to still come that would be great, but if he wants to save his money they understand.

  • Agreed.
