Does anyone know the reason for him canceling? Did coaches tell him we are full at LB I would be curious to know.

The coaches probably told him we were full. Gedeon is probably a lock. And EJL would get the third spot if he wants it.

The coaches probably think Ben Gedeon is a lock, and also EJ Levenberry has a spot if he wants it.

I can't wrap my head around Gedeon being a silent commit, but it sure does sound that way. No real reason to be a silent commit to this staff unless you want time to setup a press conference, which he hasn't done. He's not a silent commit if he schedules more visits, so what would he be waiting for?
BUT... telling kids you're full, especially from top schools like Good Counsel seems risky if you really aren't full. If they want 2 LBs and miss Gedeon and Levenberry only to start recruiting others later, that would look bad on their part.
Maybe they are just fine to take 1 LB this year (McCray) if they whiff on the other two, but would take the other two if they wanted to commit? So "full" in terms of they are recruiting the only two prospects they are willing to take?

I don't believe its as much an indicator of Gedeon being a silent as it is that we can't take another WILL considering we have one of 'perhaps' 2 LB spots already filled. I have confidence in the coaching staff on this but not so much in the word of a Junior in high school (whether that word is silent or not). Hope we don't get burned by turning such a talented kid away.

Good point on the possibility of being content with 1 LB this year. I don't think that is the case as they've projected 2 all along but is something I hadn't heard or considered.

Well, that makes no sense to me.
We really need at least 2 LBs in this class, if you look at the numbers. If you take one, and even a single member of last years class flames out, you are going to have a numbers crunch again.
This only makes sense to me if they think they have 2 in the bag.

That's kind of disappointing. He didn't even get to visit us. I guess the guys that live close really have the upper-hand because they can get on campus sooner than the guys in other regions. He seemed pretty surprised by it too.

I can't see Gedeon NOT being a silent commit now. If we were content with possibly taking one LB then we would have informed O'Daniel shortly after McCray committed. I think Gedeon may have recently reassured the coaches that he will commit. That's just my opinion on the matter.

That is all in the eye of the beholder....Heard a really good coach from the Toledo area call Gedeon a AJ Hawk clone.... That is good enough for me
