Only one accused of doing something wrong. Speculation is it's the player that left last week (Pittman).

  • Yikes. I'll wait on some actual confirmation, but that could be bad for those guys.

  • Really? "O$U"? "Urbie Rape Squad"? Just awful.

  • Dodson's name can be seen on the report in the video. Speculation says the others could be Se'von Pittman (who left the school for unknown reasons) and a recruit that did not commit to Ohio State. Football aside, let's hope this isn't true and let the investigation take its place. The little story provided is very head scratching.

That'd make a lot of sense if it was Pittman, but then wouldn't he have left a while ago?

Correct, in the part of the report that can be seen, only one guy was accused of doing anything. The other two are most likely named as being present or something and so in these cases they will be deemed suspects until further investigation is done. Don't jump to conclusions until the process plays out. Personally I think this is one of those cases of saturday night + alcohol + college kids in groups = trouble. Whether the alleged story it's true or not, those that have been through college life can imagine fairly easily how something bad like this would happen.

But if you know and say nothing (which is an assumption on my part as we do not have details) you are complicit in some fashion.

As another poster said, yes this is appropriate to talk about due to it effecting their football team but really? I do think Meyer is willing to compromise character sometimes, but don't joke about rape that is disgusting. Meyer in no way commends this so knock it off.nono

Fixed...again mea culpa. That stated Urban is not a saint just as Tressel was not, just like the pink/purple jersey...you know what it meant and what they were insinuating about those players.

I would have thought so, but I also would have thought this would leak out much sooner than it did. Happens in October, reported to police in November, and just now becoming public.

  • Pittman left last week because he ''wants to start off someplace fresh'' especially if that someplace isn't accusing you of rape.

Yeah, but I'd much rather be hit with a Failure to Report (or whatever the correct term is) charge than Sexual Assault/Rape charge. But both would be bad, just different degrees. Plus, them being named in a report doesn't mean they were witnesses, it's probable, but the girl could just say "I was hanging out with Person A Person B and Person C, and then Person A did this." As an investigator, Person B and C are the first I'd go to for more information.

Yeah we do not really know anything, except the buckeyes do not want this, and along with the "purple shirt" incident under Urban that is two within a pretty close proximity - JMO.

    This.

Unfortunately this does seem to be the dark side of college football, lots of stories of CFB players committing or being accused of committing rape across tons of schools. Really awful stuff.

  • Here is an interesting comment posted to the article about this situation on 11 Warriors:

Take this with a MASSIVE grain of salt... and I really don't want to put anything out there that makes a claim about anyone in particular, but...

One of my friends had told me something that sounds similar to this a while ago, and come to think of it, it was in late October, around that time. He told me that a girl he knew met Noah Spence, and that she was drunk, and something something oral sex something something questionable level of consent... I don't quite remember, I obviously didn't hear a firsthand account of it, and what I heard could be completely unrelated or mis-remembered.

We have posters all over the dorms talking about what consent is and what consent isn't, but most people either don't notice them, don't read them, or don't take them seriously. This is by no means a problem limited to a particular group of students (I.E. the football players, before anyone says that they're "out of control"). What constitutes consent is something that is taken very lightly by pretty much everyone who parties, and honestly, the university should do something about it.

Again, don't take me as anything resembling a credible news source, just passing along something I heard a while ago that could perhaps be related to this.

I'm also not sure if I should even be posting this, so mods, if this is something that goes against commenting policy, feel free to remove it.

EDIT: Just read a comment saying that Spence and Pittman were roommates last year. Don't want to jump to any conclusions here, but I wouldn't be shocked if this is what I heard about earlier this year.

Yeah "O$U", "$EC", anything along those lines. To me it's like anyone who says "scUM" or "AACC(Ann Arbor Community College)". It just seems childish to me, call them OSU, Ohio State, Ohio, whatever you want, but I think little digs like that are dumb.

I mean, all for the culture of msg boards for speculation and discussion. But there is a reason the kids' names are left out of the news release, so that public judgement and assumptions aren't made until the proper investigation and judicial channels have ran their course. I just don't think it's in good taste to facilitate a baseless rumor on such a sensitive subject, grain of salt and all. Just my 2cents.

It's all starting. Urbs is gonna leave them in a fiery heap in a few years claiming to have chest pains ... and Fickell will be offered the thankless task of trying to put the pieces back together. I LOVE IT!!!!
