OT: The worst company in America

  • Personally, I'd vote for Sprint, but that's not who won.

  • I don't know much about Sprint, but I'm not surprised that EA won. Literally EA pumps up all their games every year only to make no changes, even though fans beg of them to and give them suggestions, except for improving the graphics.

I gotcha. I love playing sports video games, but I honestly have never owned a gaming system because I'd become addicted. So I really don't know enough about EA to comment either way.

Just trust me, they suck. They've pretty much monopolized the sports game business for Xbox users since 2K makes terrible games outside of their basketball games. Nobody else makes football games so there is no competition to force improvements in game play and causes EA to get lazy with their upgrades. Also 2K is pretty terrible, especially baseball.

  • There all wrong! ! Csx is by far the worse company in the world! They just fired me for 7 days for doing the job by the rules but not to their liking! They overcharge every customer, then in return they screw 90% of the customers into paying for the fuel. I could go on and on and on but ill save that for the drunken rant thread later this week! !!

  • Bank of America should have been voted the worst company imo. They can actually cause people's lives to get pretty messed up. EA got voted worst in America because a lot of butthurt gamers didn't like the ending to ME3. lol

lol True, most of the votes came from guys on reddit anyways. IMO worst company AT&T, screwed me over twice and their customer service is just terrible.

I'm with you and with bank of America/acorn. When I enlisted almost 3 years ago they were my secondary babk and I had about $1200 in a checking account, I used my card once at Taco Bell and somehow with all their fees ended up with $40 in my account, because that adds up...

AT&T was my last cell phone service provider, had an iPhone with 450min a month, unlimited data and text and it costed $87.00 a month even with military discount. Screw them both!

I have heard the workers complain, but honestly, from my end CSX is one of the best companies to work with. They are a client of the company I work for though, I don't know how they treat their employees outside of hearsay.

  • EA is a game company. Come one.

Bank of America holds my underwater mortgage...and they are impossible to get in touch with.

Are we really comparing the two? REALLY?

Not all EA games are bad, it depends on the Publisher.

    EA Sports sucks badly though.

I love the Battlefield and Mass Effect series.

And some of Bayer's newer pesticides are behind the near-extinction of bees.

Use of common pesticide, imidacloprid, linked to bee colony collapse

The likely culprit in sharp worldwide declines in honeybee colonies since 2006 is imidacloprid, one of the most widely used pesticides, according to a new study.

Interesting read, but your use of the term near-extintion, blaming Bayer, and basing it off of one study is misleading and ill informed.

Could there be merits to it, yes, but you are stretching it at this point.

I'd agree with you, except this has been tested (in large-scale experiments) 3 times with the same results...

"Three studies released in the past two weeks, including one today by Harvard University, add to the growing body of evidence that implicate pesticides, specifically neonicotinoids, as one of the most critical factors contributing to Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD), bolstering the need for regulatory action."

Once again, it may have merits, but to say that it has led to the "near-extinction" of the bee is more fear mongering than factual. When you needlessly embellish it throws up red flags.

This looks like a good study, and more work needs to be fone, but to claim it is the reason for the declining bee population over chemicals/pesticides, mites, bacteria, a fungus, virus or the weather is premature.

    Sigh...

Report: World bee decline signals ‘sixth major extinction’

A new report on honey bee and pollinator decline indicates a of biological diversity is currently underway, caused by habitat loss, pollution, pest invasion, and disease, leading to ecosystem havoc vital to human livelihood.

Sigh? Do you actually read the links you provide or just go off the header? Do you know what the 6th extinction event means?

Stop and think about that link. You have went from claiming Bayer is the cause for the "near-extinction" of the bees, to providing a link that doesn't mention your study, and actually mentions reasons I provided for the decline in the bee population.

Examples since you obviously didn't read it,

"Among the factors contributing to declines of honey bee populations is habitat deterioration. Human activities involving degradation, fragmentation and destruction of honey bees’ natural habitat are considered as key causes of honey bee decline."

"Increased pathologies are another factor related to habitat deterioration. Various pathogens have been transferred from commercially-controlled bumblebee species used in greenhouse pollination programs, leading to a decline in some native bumblebee populations."

"Invasive species are introduced to pollinators when their natural habitats are destroyed. These include parasitic mites that feed on bees’ circulation fluids, spreading from hive to hive. The mites introduce viral diseases and bacteria to the colonies and if left uncontrolled, will cause the premature death of the infected colonies within three years."

There is more factors mentioned, I would recommend you read the article, it may clue you in that there are more factors in play than Bayer.

Look at the dates-- that's an older article (before the pesticide experiments came out), which I posted to prove that you're wrong about using the term "extinction" as "fear mongering".

Anyhow, habitat fragmentation is happening to many different species and species are always dealing with new pathogens. Every species on Earth is dealing with climate change, too. This particular Bayer pesticide is the one factor that can be seen as unique to the declining number of bees.

I'm done on this topic, you're not saying anything new (neither am I). Now, I hope everyone is more educated on this topic.
