This is kinda what I'm waiting for. I want to see what I can put together with iTV and GOOGLE FIBER, BITCHES.
But really, that's why I'm holding off on building a new setup right away - if it's going to be obsolete in 6 months based on my location, what's the point?

Are you around Kansas City? Last I heard, Google hasn't found another city to try it out yet. I can't wait for the day when gigabit internet is the standard like it should be with today's technology. I just foresee Google having trouble getting the rights in most cities to set up their infrastructure because they are already owned privately and wouldn't give it up to Google unless it were for a pretty penny. It would be a great advancement for the country if high speed internet access was basically a right. Time Warner and Comcast and the like are have consumers at gunpoint.

Thanks I appreciate you. Will definitely use that site while DVRing the other games, should be able to up my quota on games I can watch that way. Yeah, I'm going to have to look into picking up a new internet provider, though I'm in a multi dwelling unit, and I highly doubt they will let us pick up an outside provider. Communism!

First row is pretty reliable. They have almost every televised game in every sport, with multiple links for each in case one goes down. As he said, use Google Chrome or Firefox with Adblockplus on because it will have a boatload of popups and ads that you have to click out of before being able to watch. Another good site to know, for movies is www.1channel.ch , hook a laptop up to a TV with an HDMI cable and you're set. You can also build little computers like stated above and stick them onto the back of your TV and have them programmed to just stream the stuff on these types of websites.

Yeah - they're currently wiring up some of the counties in KC, KS, and I'll be in KC, MO, so I'm not sure how long it'll take to cross the border and get into the areas where I'm living, but hopefully it'll be soon.

I might be alone in this, but I don't know how much I really want Google for an ISP. Gigabit internet sounds pretty awesome, but at the price of letting Google monitor and sell 100% of my internet activity? Kind of over that.

That's a fair concern, however, you're at least getting a lot better of a product than what you get from your current ISP, who are probably just as guilty at peeking in on your privacy. My ISP, TimeWarner, was just recently exposed for this while at the same time not supplying the higher speeds that they are capable to just because they have a monopoly on the area so there's no incentive in making sure internet and cable is top notch. In this day and age with politics that are in place (Patriot Act type stuff) you just kind of have to realize that your privacy is not really guaranteed. Either some company wants to use you for making money by selling your information, or the NSA/FBI are doing what they do (whether you agree with it or not).
