Looks like the 25 man roster is pretty much set with Drew Smyly winning the 5th spot in the rotation over Andy Oliver along with a few others. Personally I wish we would have signed a vet or traded for an experienced pitcher but the market was thin this year so it's understandable. Also for all you Inge lovers out there, it may be that we've seen the last of Inge in a Tigers uniform as there is almost no way he makes the team over Danny Worth, actually he shouldn't have even had a chance to win it in the first place. Andy Dirks has played really well this spring but he is going against one of Leyland's players in Clete Thomas, who has played good defense but is an awful hitter. I believe Luis Marte and Colin Balester won the last two bullpen spots, which is awesome because Balester can make spot starts if needed.

Brandon Inge has been cut, he is optioned to Toledo unless someone picks him up in the waiver wire (Doubtful).

Buster Olney said that he predicts the Tigers will win their division by twice the next biggest margin.

He really likes this team. Also said that he expects Cabrera to win MVP.

Only 22, he needs to take care of that arm. I really hope he is ready for the Bigs. 11 wins with a sub 4 ERA

I think one of JV or Cabrera will win the MVP and Brennan Boesch is going to explode this year. Boesch doesn't miss fastballs and that's all he's going to get this season.

I love Boesch but i am getting a little concerned with all the back and neck issues he has been having. I know there hasn't been anything major yet but the twinges and spasms in the back and neck cause me concern.

For everyone who thinks we have no future because of a weak farm system, it isn't nearly as weak as you think. The Tigers have a lot of players who will contribute at the Major league level and a few high upside guys to compliment those players. The pitchers in our system tend to be all high upside pitchers but we have a few solid pitchers with little upside but can contribute right away, like Drew Smyly and a slew of relievers. We drafted a kid last year in the 15th round named Tyler Gibson who is an outfielder with a bunch of physical tools but also is a contact hitter, a great foundation to build upon. I think Gibson will be a special player but could either be a bust or a Matt Holiday all depending on how he adapts to Major League stuff.

You guys and I have one thing in common in regards to sports. Detroit Teams. Go Tigers!!! Gonna be a big year!

I find it entertaining how you have that 15 yard personal foul as your sig pic. IIRC that was a huge penalty that helped us win.

But I'm so excited for this baseball season. Tigers are gonna do some fun stuff.

I think a lot of that had to do with injuries. Boesch was out. Avila, VMart, and Young seemed to be hanging on by a thread. Fielder should really help out in that department though. Excited to see what he can do in a Tigers uniform.

We're really going to need Laird to be at least halfway decent so Avila can get some days off.
