12-4 might be a tad high for us. I'm deathly worried with our secondary we did nothing to address it this year and we lost our best corner. I was hoping we would do what the cowboys did with Claiborne. Were only a piece or two away i feel like. Our passing game should be even better this year with Broyles coming in, it will be tough for defenses to match up with our wr's and if we have any sort of running game it will just open things up for Matthew.

Bill Bentley (third-round pick) has what it takes to start. Losing Wright won't hurt much if Bentley is able to contribute. If healthy, Houston is better than Wright. Plus, Aaron Berry playing in games gives us good depth and he's been coming along nicely as a nickle-back. I don't think we had one game in the second half the season in which we had more than half of our starting secondary in good health. Cutting down on penalties and keeping a healthy secondary will make the Lions a much better team in 2012. Hopefully, Fairley and LeShoure can give us some good play once they're on the field too. My biggest prayer is for less stupid penalties that give teams freebies at the worst possible time. Watching that happen is so frustrating.

Buy yeah this secondary scares me. I can not believe they didnt address it. That broyles pick still boggles me , and I get the "take the best player available" routine. But it has to come with some level of concern when we have 4 solid receivers on the team and stoval who has been amazing on the scout team and summer camps. we could have drafted better to help cover some holes -

I absolutely agree on everything you said. Burlesons days are numbered and I like ty in the a lot as well. But I still think they reached on him. I am not a scout or coach though and I hope I'm wrong. But I can see why they picked him. It's just that stoval is a Calvin clone. I liked what he brought to the table. But it will have been a vet very smart move if broyles pans out and excels in the return game!
However, I'm not sure they will be using rb's in the slit much.

I don’t think Stoval will ever be anything more than a ST guy. I know people get excited over him because he’s a big and a good athlete but he’s just not a good receiver.
RB was for Ryan Broyle’s. I’m lazy. I think in the future they will move Titus’s to the outside and Broyle’s to the slot.
TBH the Broyle’s pick has grown on me a lot. At the time I would of much rather had Konz, Lavonte David, Mike Adam’s, Josh Robinson or Trumanine Johnson. But looking back at it now, it makes since. IMO Broyle’s has potential to be one of the best slot receiver’s in the league and could have a Wes Welker impact on this Offense. Although we had more pressing need’s I think long term Broyle’s has potential to be better than all the players still left on the board at that time with the possible exception of Lavonte David.
