OSU Defense is....

Braxton can't throw, defense can't tackle, and their special teams is atrocious....smells like Victory in the 'Shoe'. They have looked absolutely untimidating by all definitions of the word. I see them losing 4 games this year...I can't believe they haven't lost one already

They lost to Cal at home in my book, anyone who watched that game would probably agree. Their only offense appears to be Miller's legs and the defense is bending and almost breaking against terrible competition (all home games too). MSU is bad but I still don't see Ohio beating them.

I absolutely disagree. I don't see anyway MSU can score enough points to beat OSU. Braxton is a much better player now than he was in the MSU game last year and will put up some points on MSU.

  • The B1G is awful this year. I actually think the only team from their division that has a shot at beating them is Purdue because of Purdue's defensive line.

Unless they really mess up they will be undefeated going into our matchup bc that is how bad the B1G is.

  • First road game of the season and they've had very slow starts against UCF and UAB at home. I'm thinking MSU will figure out a way to get some points on the board. If MSU can run the ball efficiently and maybe Maxwell can make some easy throws. Ohio has had some trouble tackling so maybe MSU can get some YAC on short and easy throws. Ohio will either lose to MSU or to Nebraska the following week.

I would not be surprised if Purdue wins the division, frankly. Overall they have looked pretty good and have some solid pieces.

PSU has been very frustrating. If we could clean up a number of things on offense (and get our LT and RB back), the O could be very good. Can't believe how much improvement McGloin has shown this year compared to the last two. The D worries me, though.

OSU plays you in Happy Valley late in the year right? I could really see you winning that if you get some issues sorted out.

Yeah. This season has been one of those "We SHOULD be 3-0 at this point." (and another win SHOULD be coming this afternoon) But we aren't, and saying we should be isn't much comfort. That's just how it is.

Still a lot of things that need to be cleaned up. I think we'll be competitive in all the rest of our games. Just need to pull out the wins. I can see us competing with OSU, even winning if they make some mistakes and we don't, but Miller is quite a weapon. I'll be interested to see how we defend him.

  • Never mind, Maxwell is 9/19 with an average 1.6 in the first-half against EMU! Have to recant what I said earlier, there really isn't any hope for MSU it seems.

I feel like Mauti and Hodges will be great against Miller, though. A good LB for a spy is the perfect weapon against a QB like Miller.

Their defense looks bad, but your offense hasn't looked much better. I'm sure both will get much better throughout the year so it'll be interesting to see that matchup and how the teams progress.

Miller is a good runner. Hodges would work well, he's very athletic...another guy to consider is Mike Hull. He's a backup, but showing well this season. That said, still worried about Miller. Even a LB spy isn't always successful.

Our offense has a ton of potential. They really just need to clean things up. We'll just have to see. It will be nice having the bye week before Iowa.

  • OSU had a couple of defensive starters not playing today that will play next week.

starting corner Bradley Roby was held out along with starting safety CJ Barnett and startling DE Michael Bennet. Starting tailback Carlos Hyde was also out but will play next week. Like Al Davis said just win baby win!

I think we are in for another high scoring affair in November. Best of luck rest of the way

  • After watching the games yesterday, both teams have a lot to work on between now and our matchup. Fair to assume at this point that all OSU fans can think of a bunch of reasons we will win and all Michigan fans will do the same. Right now, looks like it will be a battle of a couple good, not great, teams

just got done watching you guys, I wouldnt be so fast to be too proud if I were you. your defense happens to be last in the big, and denard totally sucks ass!!. so once you make some improvements on both sides of the ball i wouldt be so quick to crow,

I would like to know where you get your stats?
Ours are a little misleading because of the Bama, AF game

Are you serious? Denard just makes bad decisions, Braxton just can't throw a good ball to save his life. We might not even have to throw a pass on you to win judging by Cal and UAB

You gotta root for OSU. MSU is in our division. The more losses they have, the better it is for us.

yea thats pretty much where I fall on it, hate both teams so much but gota go with what helps out my team the most.

I hope ohio beats msu and neb. that would be huge for us. Plus we could just smack ohio at the end of the season after they helped us get into the big ten championship.

Disagree, I always root against Ohio because them losing prevents them from going undefeated, and normally in the national championship hunt. They need all the loses they can get

what does it matter, they can't go to a national championship. their record is irrelevant. why would you not want them to beat msu and neb. do you want msu and neb to have a better big ten record than us? we need them to lose. rather its ohio beating them or indiana what does it matter. and as long as we beat ohio; that's all that matters.

  • I think MSU can and will beat OSU.

Bell is going to pound the ball, and he may only get 80 yards or so. But OSU can't stop a screen or bubble to save their lives right now. Maybe they will figure it out this week...if so, they probably win. But right now, MSU has looked like the better team...sad but true.

I hope you're right, but I don't think so. OSU has been able to move the ball when needed with Braxton Miller's feet. But MSU's offense has been pathetic. OSU will stop Bell. He's slow and MSU's OL gives him no help at all. The yards he piled up on BSU and EMU were almost entirely of his own making. I think it's a relatively low scoring game, but OSU pulls out an ugly win in the end.

I agree with you but I am not sure MSU can even put up 16 points.
