  • This is the must win of the season. I can take losses from ND, Bama, ohio, and Nebraska and recover for next season. But this one, for me personally is the biggest game of the season by far.

  • I imagine many (read: all) NFL scouts will be watching this game to see how Lewan does against Clowney, which could be a good thing for us, since I expect Clowney to hand him his lunch, which could conceivably hurt his draft stock enough that he decides to come back.

I know that might come as a surprise to many Michigan fans, but Lewan was not nearly as good as a lot of people seem to think he was this year, and not even close to Jake Long's junior year in 2006. Clowney will be the best DE he goes up against all season. How many NFL teams will want to draft him in the first round if he gets manhandled against the closest thing to an NFL defensive end he'll face this year??

Exactly. He's good. Very good. And I don't claim to be a draft expert, but I've read this is weak year for Tackles in the draft which is why Lewan is leaning towards coming out. But he's not on Jake Long's level yet. I'd love to see him back for another year and become truly the best tackle in the draft.

It's a weak year for tackles this year and he's a project. I doubt that this game will have a huge impact.

Hopefully he manhandles Clowney and comes back shrug

Of course he's not as good as Jake Long, Jake Long was the best LT to come out of Michigan and there are only one or two NFL players that even compare with him. That being said, Taylor Lewan is a very good LT and has taken a lot of criticism these last couple weeks because he had one bad game. Before that game, when was the last time a DE came close to the QB?

For those wondering, the reason it is a "must win" for Moon is because he works in Columbia, SC at an office with a lot of Carolina fans. He has personally taken it upon himself to constantly attack, insult, and just generally offend all of us as much as possible. He especially enjoys reminding us of Michigan's rich history in comparison to Carolina's lack of championships. Moon has made his bed- now it's time for him to sleep. biggrin

Listen up Cock Kool-Aid....whether you win or lose this game, you will still have zero championships. Closest you've ever been is getting curb stomped by Cam Newton in the SEC championship game. So before you go and tell me to sleep in my own bed....let the game playout first.

I did not say he was better. I said that I personally would take Shaw over Murray. Shaw is not going to sit in the pocket and throw the ball downfield on a regular basis like Murray. From a pure QB standpoint (especially NFL prospect), Murray is the better player. Shaw very rarely throws INT's and is very efficient and mobile. I said that I think Aaron Murray is overrated because he struggles against top 10 teams. Shaw struggles as well, but I think (without looking up the numbers) that their success against top 10 teams has probably been pretty similar. In my defense, I also made this statement about this time a year ago and that was when Shaw was starting to come on in the downfield passing game and I was expecting him to make alot more improvement in that department in the offseason than he did.
