Heads up Go Blue, our board/site operates a bit different from many other 247 sites, it was up and going before 247 came about, that said, other sites' members don't have the ability to post. As the game gets closer maybe we can start a thread over here for some serious talk about our programs as the game approaches. This has been done w/ a few of our opponents this season and it's worked well w/ the occasional uber poster showing their arse; anyone crosses a line - am sure some will - and it's just GTFO, since you are a mod, let's give it a try, looking forward to the game.

  • I think the Lewan-Clowney matchup will be very interesting, for a number of reasons.

    1. It's one of the best OLs in the country against one of the best DLs.
    2. Lewan had a bad game against OSU and should be seeking redemption.
    3. It'll go a long way towards scouts seeing what Lewan can do against the best of the best pass rushers. If Lewan has a good game, I think he's 100% gone to the NFL. On the contrary, if Clowey owns him all night, he might think more about returning.

    We did a similar thing with Alabama, since we couldn't post on their board IIRC.

  • I've watched every South Carolina and every Michigan game this year. The only advantage SC has over us is their DL. Everything else is pretty evenly matched. They have Clowney and we have Denard. Both huge play makers. Our offense is somewhat dependent on big plays and theirs is an offense that has to have rhythm to have success. They are a big play defense and UM's defense is does not give up the big play and makes you earn every point. I have only two concerns:
    1. Blocking their DL obviously
    2. Controlling Connor Shaw in the pocket. He is a lot like Denard and not the greatest passer but his illusiveness is very good. Really makes a lot of plays with his feet and keeps the chains moving. He's been banged up all year, so Dylan Thompson might start. He is a pure pocket passer, and a good one at that. Loves the deep and takes a lot of chances to his speed WR's....Ace Sanders and D. Byrd.
    I like this matchup better than any other one (UGA, LSU, UF, and TAMU). I think this is a pretty evenly matched game and it should be fun to watch. pray Gotta win this one or I won't live it down.

  • Since we don't ever have to face DRob again, I'm hoping he has a good game. I believe the BEST chance you have against SC is to play DGard at QB and DRob in slot, NOT RB. Put your bigger back at RB, you can always bring DRob in motion to get him the ball on outside whether by handoff or option game. In the slot, get him the ball quickly on a bubble screen and let him get that 1 on 1 matchup on the outside, or to set up a double pass, back to DGard or something. Going to need to get creative during this month off.

    Stopping Clowney isn't an option, he's going to get pressure, just as long as he gets slowed down some. I'd use a roll out run/pass option away from Clowney moreso than sitting DGard in the pocket.

    SC is a funny team. They've looked like world beaters and then they've looked nothing like a top 30 team. Hopefully UM will have the majority of the crowd to help with some noise.

    I assume you mean one of the best LT's in the country vs. one of the best DE's in the country

    UM's OL is not close to being one of the best in the country
