Wish I was, but that's what this guy was saying. Glad to see up is still up.

That ND rivals board tends to get pretty crazy sometimes...

It actually wasn't rivals or any other CFB board, was an OT discussion in a completely unrelated forum.

  • ND got the win over us this year but it's very hard to be sold that they are better than we are. We were one fumble away from a tie game with 5 int at that point. The int were such poor throws and bad decisions by DR it's tough to say it was because the ND was that good. I give them credit for catching it. Seeing the first half we should have had no less than a 7 point lead had we just ran the football. It was a very poorly excecuted game. Had we stayed on the ground the entire game and just held on to the football the game was ours. Bama would most likely shut out ND. Their offense is very shaky. The Bama backs and O line would run over the ND defense. The score would be roughly 35-0 range. ND has improved on defense but on offense they are still bad. No way they are ready for the big boys. Had they flat out imposed their will on UM the way Bama did I'd think otherwise. The UM ND game results had more to do with UM giving the ball to ND 6 times. Few teams in the Big would lose the game against UM if Um did that.

Got into an argument with a ND fan about this on another forum, so I'll pose the question here to reassure myself that I'm not taking crazy pills. How would a hypothetical BCS championship game between Alabama and Notre Dame play out? I'm thinking Bama issues a beatdown like they gave LSU last year, one of those "win by 3+ scores," "losing team was lucky to advance past midfield" sort of affairs. Anyone disagree?

Alabama will throttle ND. I just don't want to see two SEC teams play for the NCG. Alabama is likely going to win it, although many experts are saying Alabama will lose one game. I don't see it, but the liklihood is Alabama wins another crystal ball. ND is likely to play for the NC, but I do't know if they will win every game or not. I mean Purdue almost beat them (3 points). I hate Alabama... but if they are going to win anyway - might as well beat down another team I can't stand (ND).

I don't think ND is likely to play for the NC at all. ND has to make it past USC and Oklahoma, and I don't see them making it past both without at least one loss.

I honestly think they get semi blown out of those two games

USC is overrated. They might beat ND, but it won't be a blowout. OU on the other hand will beat them by at least two TDs. OU is an up tempo spread passing team. They will torch ND's secondary and ND's front 7 will wear down from the pace. OU's defense isn't bad either. On second thought, let's go with three TDs.

USC might be overrated, but USC's strength is ND's big weakness. No chance ND contains Lee and Woods...and if they focus too much on them...Silas Redd will gash them. Its not a good matchup for ND at all especially since ND's offense is par at best. USC will win by at least 2 td's and so will Oklahoma

This. ND's secondary is god-awful and completely depleted. We came out passing in an attempt to take advantage of this, and Denard just isn't a good passer, hence the 5 picks. If Matt Barkley comes out passing to Lee and Woods though, the ND secondary just won't be able to handle it. The Trojan O-Line is plenty good enough to give Barkley time to throw and to open up the occasional hole for Redd to keep the defense honest.
