You are ignoring the part of my posts where I say that crucial errors cost us. It wasn't good offense, but it wasn't because we couldn't run the ball.

No, I don't want Bell getting 50 carries per game, but if it's a close game and he's getting 4 YPC against a good front 7, anything less than 20 is nonsense, less than 25 is foolish, and anything less than 30 is ill-advised.

I agree the passing game needs to make more plays, but abandoning the run is not how you accomplish that.

Well the passing game wasn't working with the formations and playcalling you had in the first half. I don't think it was necessarily bad to try to spread ND out. If Maxwell could of hit some passes then it might of opened up some running room for Bell.

I guess I can play what if too....If ND wasn't 1-14 on 3rd down, the outcome would have been a lot worse than it actually was. I'm trying to figure out if ND's front seven is good or if MSU's OL is bad.

Mine involves changing 1 play. Yours involves changing the results of several.

ND's front 7 is very good, but not spectacular.

MSU's OL is less than great but not bad.

MSU's play calling accentuated ND's strengths, and did little to hide MSU's weaknesses.

I agree. Not sure why the run was abandoned putting a lot of pressure on the QB to rally the troops for a win. The only real time I saw the ball being moved was when they went to a hurry up style offense, but aside from that, it was a poor performance on that side of the ball.

Our defensive line is closer to Boise's than it is to ND's.

    MSU bulldozed Boise's d-line.

Not really. It took them 52 carries to get just over 200 yards. Boise put good pressure on Maxwell most of the night. MSU only scored 17 points in the Boise game. Not to mention a lot of those yards were Bell getting yards after contact. 3 of those 52 runs accounted for like 90 yards. So the rest of the 49 carries got about 120 yards or so. That's not even 3 yards a carry.

I applaud you coming over here to view your opinions. Do you notice that the mods did not ban you for natural discourse? It would be nice if tRCMB mods would return the favor. See you soon and settle it on the field.

  • MSU's OL is bad.

    Our DL is bad.

    Bell is good.

Thus, they are going to get yards on us. That is simply a fact. But you have to make Maxwell win it...8 in the box, and let him win it in the air.

  • LOL.

I am surprised MSU laid an egg in EL last night. MSU was out-played all over the field. ND is better than expected, since I still believe MSU has a quality defense to keep them in games. I would not panic in EL, but MSU is not going to 'roll' this year in the B-10. They are at the same level as everyone else.

Won't happen. You have to understand what tRCMB is, it isn't a good place for honest discourse, too many hollow personas.

It's irritating, but it is what it is. If it was good for honest debate/discussion, you probably wouldn't find me here. Even though I disagree with a lot of opinions/arguments, it's a much better discussion half the time.

At this point, you're 100% right. I'm still scratching my head how the entire conference has seemingly collectively regressed.

Is everybody trying to save themselves for a brutal conference slate or something? This is pathetic.

    Wisconsin looks pathetic.
OSU and MSU were thought to be the best, but MSU fixed that. Thing is, OSU reminds me of UM with a better defense. But they didn't look great against Cal.
Northwestern and Purdue have been the most consistent thus far, what is happening?
After what happened yesterday, Purdue is the heavy favorite in the Leaders. They have a legit shot at the Rose.
Nebraska isn't bad, but their defense is very suspect. Could be a 4 team race in the Legends, with Northwestern having 3 solid wins now.

  • If OSU, MSU and Michigan are the best teams in the Big 10...we really suck.

Could add Purdue and Nebraska to that mix. B1G has a lot of average teams at the moment.

It's pretty simple. You are not going to like my opinion on this but it's what I truly believe. Ohio State and Michigan(except the last couple years of RR) are the only 2 teams that recruit good enough to be dominant teams. MSU does not have the players on the OL to be a dominant team. You throw in the fact that you lost Cousins, all 3 WRs, TE and 1 of your 2 RBs and you end up with the offense MSU has. Wisconsin lost a lot of its coaching personal and you see how that has hurt them. Michigan and Ohio State both have coaches who are in the process of instilling their systems and getting the players they want. The Big Ten simply lacks the combination of pure talent, developed talent and good coaching it requires to have superior teams that can compete with the best teams in the nation.

I mostly agree but Jandy is now on my list of "good people" that work for the enemies. He just wants his team to do as well as possible like we all do.

Jandy isn't bad. The only time he usually gets worked up is in response to others that are trolling.
