Notre Dame Exercises 3-Year Opt Out in Michigan Rivalry

I think this rivalry can easily continue (probably after 2019 it looks like). It probably wont be an annual matchup, but how hard would it be for ND to schedule Michigan once every 3 years, and ND could do that with their Big Ten rivals, schedule Michigan, MSU and Purdue once every three years on a rotating basis. This still gives them flexibility to be primaddonas while having a consistent cycle with their other rivalries. It might make our rivalry with them more intense in some aspects, because we only play them once every 3 years

If it fits in our schedule, fine. But just treat it like any other high profile opponent. Michigan should do what is best for us and if ND fits into that great. If they don't, or if they only fit in every 10-20 years, so be it. I don't want to see us passing up series with Texas and Georgia so we can save a spot for ND.

I'll be a little surprised if it happens, it looks to me like nd is tryin to ligheten up the sos and doesn't want any part of what Michigan is gona become in a couple more years.
