My thoughts on this Michigan team after this game.

  • Denard Robinson hasn't changed at all since last season. Still inaccurate and makes bad decisions. Can't wait for a actual pocket passer to arrive.

Fitz Toussaint takes much too long to get going. I don't think he achieved more than 5 yards on a carry in the first half. However I don't think we give him enough carries a game.

Our receiving core looks solid but is not benefiting from Denard throwing behind or to far ahead of them.

I'm mighty proud of our defense today. If it wasn't for Denard, we probably would of won this game. Jake Ryan is an animal and I think we stopped the run quite well. RAMON TAYLOR = First turnover this year.

Al Borges really made some stupid plays in the first half. You didn't see Denard excelling till he stuck with the short passes and conservative gameplay.

I honestly don't know what to think about our quarterback position. Against a good defense, Denard looks like he has no idea what he is doing. I think he will make us lose a decent amout of games with his turnovers. Most importantly we need Fitz Toussaint to take over the game. If he can have some 100 yards rushing games, we might be back in business. But I mean he had 85 yards rushing against UMASS. I'm sorry but we will not be facing a worse team them this year. This worries me.

I will be happy to win 8 games this season and I'm nervous for Denard Robinson as his SENIOR season might be his worst season of his career. Which is pathetic, but I love the guy and his personality and heart.

P.S. Dennis Norfleet needs to be put in a couple plays a game. He is one of the fastest on the team and if you look at his face when he runs, THIS KID IS ANGRY, he want's to score sooo bad. Love his determination.

    GO BLUE.

  • Good post! I think your right about Norfleet. He is a threat to score on any play with his speed and elusiveness. Needs to have that chance more often

  • Fitzgerald Toussaint's NFL stock has to be dropping (precipitously). The first few games of this season has shown me that his production is far too dependent on a good OLine.

And I am worried about next season because we will have a huge question mark at the QB position.

Possibly, and that scares me. I'm predicting Bellomy though with Gardner at WR and Shane as Bellomy's backup

Right now there's not much that really tells us either way. One thing seems obvious, he's not ready to replace Robinson right now.

Did you see the way he played against UMASS? I don't believe he completed a pass, got sacked and scrambled the ball for 8 yards on 5 carries. Not to mention the only play he had against Alabama, he threw an interception.

Some people Say Bellomy is a smart guy, but one thing is for sure, he does not look like a composed, calm guy in the pocket, ESPECIALLY under pressure.

You do realize Bellomy against UMASS had an OL consisting of 4 walk-ons and everyone else was a 3rd stringer or worse right? Most everyone was also a RS SO or younger.

It's a good point, but I bet Alabama's 3rd string offense line would of ran over Umass's starting D-line. Needless to say I can't wait till we are back to Michigan football with the depth we need. I was never impressed with Bellomy's spring practice either. I hope he does end up really stepping up his game and becoming a quality quarterback because I really don't want Shane Morris starting as a freshmen.

I don't mind if Shane starts right away it was the norm there for a while under Lloyd and as far back as Leach. Either way I'll be happy

thing is bellomy didn't have bamas 3rd string OL he had four of our walk-ons and the backup rs freshman center, they did nothing to hold back the umass dl. Not saying bellomy is great or is gona be but I don't think any of us have seen anything to make an informed determination on. He could be good or could just be easily rattled and fold under pressure. I'm very much hoping he can step up next year and atleast be a solid game manager though so we can rs Morris as I've read he needs some coaching up on his technique. On the flip side I son't be too heart broken if he starts as next years likely gona be a tough one either way and it may serve him well to get the experience and help us build towards 2014.

  • No way Shane starts next year... If he does we r in trouble. And I mean that with no disrespect or knock on his ability because I think he will be a good one. But..... It's either Bellomy or Gardner.

robinson has one bad game (against a very good defense) after carving us up the last two years and your ready to yank him? tremendous athlete. stick with him. maybe if he had more help on the offensive side this game comes out different. much tougher than i thought it would be, which makes me think (ND) not as good as we thought we were......

Run the ball. Stop the run. You win, or lose, up front.

No way. Shane is missing the rest of his senior year, and cannot enroll early. Bellomy is the starter next year.

Just saying...Denard's numbers against ranked teams

    3 wins and 12 losses
    12 TD and 17 INT

    Leaders and Best??? Ummm, No

Now that's just misleading. You are including his freshman year when he didn't start. I got him at 2 wins and 8 losses from his sophmore year through now. 4 of those losses are his sophmore year when Michigan had one of the worst defenses in the nation. Those losses weren't all on Denard. He was 2-2 last year and 0-2 this year with one of those being against Bama.

The interceptions, why do Michigan fans want to act like he isn't throwing the same amount of passes to the other team?

Stop throwing the ball into coverage, if the guy isn't wide open (even then there is doubt) pull it down and run, especially IN YOUR OWN END OF THE FIELD.

Everygame he throws into coverage from our own end of the field and it is very painful to watch interception, after interception leaving the other team in or around are end zone to start drives. NOT GOOD.

You said the stats are misleading

    12 tds - 17 int

Those aren't the problem in the losses?

I know you didn't say anything about them I started my post with why are some of us acting like those have no impact on the wins and losses, they do.

His wins and loss totals were misleading. Of course the Ints have something to do with the losses but they are not the only reason for most of the losses. The only one i would put on Denard is the ND game. The rest there is enough blame to go around.
