Gallon doesn't do much but he never has any room to wiggle away. The reason he returns punts and you will continue to see him do so is because he never drops the ball. Never. The coaches want ball security more than an additional 5 yards per return and that is what Gallon provides.

The offense is definitely improving, but I thought it was more a case of Nebraska's defense not being very good last night. I think Wisconsin and Penn State will both play better defensively against the Buckeyes.
And like you said, the defense isn't overly impressive by any means at this point.

This morning a lot of sites like espn and big ten network have osu as the far and away darling of the conference. What games have they watched? I saw two bad defenses play yesterday. I haven't seen osu play an all around good game once this hear. Nebraska for handled by ucla. The teams IMPROVING weekly are Michigan and penn state.
Good though, they will fall hard when they do. I just want to win against msu and worry about them later.

Well, that's what I was talking about in the thread about OOC scheduling. Ohio State isn't actually *that* good but their schedule aligns to give them a good shot at being undefeated.
@Indiana Purdue @PSU Illinois @Wisconsin Michigan
Indiana, Purdue, Illinois should be gimme wins and that gives them 9 wins. Penn State might be trickier than I originally thought but still perfectly doable. Wisconsin is worse than most people thought ahead of the year and is very winnable. We are the best team left probably and I don't think OSU is really better than us but I think they aren't much worse than us either and they can take us in Columbus.
Maybe the only positive to come from having two losses already and our flaws being mercilessly exposed in those games is that we are a bit under the radar here and we might actually be a bit underrated at the moment.

yeah, after bama it was B10 or bust, so I really don't care about ranking or being picked on gameday. Improve every week, take each game one at a time and work towards Indy. After that let the chips fall where they may. I said 8-4 prior to the season and that seems very achievable right now.

I agee about Nebraska's D not being very good last year. I was more speaking about Miller getting more comfortable with the offense and the WRs/TEs starting to make more plays for OSU.

I'm not sold on OSU this year either, but the only teams that I think will give them trouble are PSU and UM for the rest of the year. I don't see Wisconsin beating them because UW's offense is just aweful. They're last in the Big Ten in total offense for a reason. If they couldn't move the ball against Nebraska's terrible defense, they won't be able to against OSU.
Anyway, I just can't see a team with the 10th best defense in the crappy Big Ten (only ahead of Indiana and NW) being a top-10 team. The offense is good, but geez that defense is bad. But who's going to stop them in the Big Ten? The conference is just terrible this year. They kind of remind me of the 2010 UM team, except this Ohio State team is not going to play three BCS teams, nor three teams that will win 11 games this year like UM did in 2010. There's just no one except PSU and UM that could possibly expose them. And even then who knows exactly how good PSU is? Because they beat Illinois, the worst team in the Big Ten and NW with their terrible, terrible defense? Ohio State played no one in the non-conference and the Big Ten is terrible, terrible, terrible (can you tell I think the Big Ten is terrible?)

I think we are head and shoulders above OSU at this point. We've faced two of the best defenses in the country and moved the ball on one of them and on the other....well we've done more than anyone else thus far. We are battle tested and I think you guys will see this when we plays these Big 10 teams. We've already seen the best so UM knows what it takes to be the best. Like everyone, I wanted to go undefeated but I think those might be 2 of the best losses I could imagine. The Bama game has taught our Defense how to play hard nosed football, and the Notre Dame game taught our Offense and coaches a lesson on how to use Denard Robinson. I think UM is hitting their stride on both sides of the ball and I like what I see...even against ND I liked what I saw except for the TO's. I think we dominate the rest of the schedule which will set up a showdown in the 'shoe'. OSU will prolly be ranked in the top 10 and by attrition we'll prolly be around #15 again. I'm confident now that MSU and Nebraska have early losses in the division that we get the nod to go to Indy to play Wisky. If you sit there and say OSU is a top 15 team...you better look at it again. Their Defense is getting shredded every week and their whole offense is Braxton Miller. With all the carries he's gettin'.... I don't even know if he'll be healthy for "The Game". He is taking way too many hits, and as UM fans know.... there aren't too many Colin Kleins or Tim Tebows out there. Rose Bowl is within our grasp.
