Mike McCray

Kind of obvious. He grew up a fan and his father wants him to go there. Good enough? As far as legacies go, words cant describle how happy i am that we offered, and got, Archies son. Especially with fewer scholarships

Nope not good enough. Michigan obviously feels like he fits into what they want to do more than what OSU does. Doesn't make sense to me that you would go to the school that doesn't feel like you are good enough for them.

I understand what youre saying but McCray doesnt seem thin skinned. He wasnt, vocally at least, as upset as Dymonte and Taco when not receiving an offer. Could easily look at it as their(Neal, Anzalone)loss, his gain. Who knows. I really dont think Urban just paniced and blindly threw him an offer

Haha. Bucknut doesn't even know their legacy's last name. No respect.

Look. If McCray wants to go to OSU then that's where he should go. It's the OSU fans who think he SHOULD flip now because he got an offer. The ones who would be mad if he doesn't. That's where i am coming from. He likes Michigan. Michigan likes him. He feels good about his committment to Michigan. I see no reason why he SHOULD change his mind now.

Urbie is just coming around to seeing what many UM fans (and some OSU ones) have been saying for months ... that he is making a mistake to pass up elite talent from Ohio to chase prospects from other parts of the country who might be slightly better (or might not) and who generally did not grow up die-hard Buckeye fans. McCrary. Gedeon. Butt. Charlton. All should be Bucks. Bolden probably too. But they all will be Wolverines instead. And who did OSU take in their place? You didn't get Anzalone. Bolden, Gedeon and McCrary are all better than Williams. Butt is just as good as Baugh. And you will have to face all the Ohio players you passed over who turned around and committed to UM (or other B10 schools) for 4-5 years. It never made any sense to me and apparently Urbie's starting to have second thoughts too.

You're going a little far with saying Gedeon and Bolden are better than Williams imo. McCray on the other hand, likely so

Second thoughts? Extreme circumstances led to 2 LB's decommitting or we wouldnt even be talking about this. It's stupid to 2nd guess something like that. Previous staff f'd up with Dymonte. Those are the only 2 he's been after besides that OL that followed his boyfriend Strobel. I kid

If Urban thinks the players we got are better than the Ohioans we dont offer, im gonna roll with the 2 Time Nat'l Champ top coach. How can you not?

  • Sorry guys, looks like LTT is going to flip to Ohio State as well, and he even made a picture showing his love for his new school.

I don't blame you for placing trust in your HC, but my point is that your HC just did an about face on a kid who should have been a lock. As for losing two LBs, Neal is nowhere in the same league as Anzalone, McCray, Gedeon or Charlton. I never understood that OSU offer in the first place and he probably did you a favor by decommitting. I can maybe see the reach for Anzalone, but again is he really that much better than the Ohio kids you passed over to go after him? And his decommitment underscores a major negative: he didn't grow up a Buckeye and had no problem taking a walk at the first sign of trouble. Compare that to Brionte Dunn last year, who just couldn't pull the trigger on a decommitment no matter how bad things got. What happens if you stumble this year as Urbie installs his spread offense? Does Marcus Baugh get cold feet and decide to stay out West? Or what if USC just makes a late push for him? Does he stick with his OSU commitment the way Jake Butt would? That's all I'm saying. And it will be a double blow if Marcus Baugh pulls an Anzalone or a Neal only to have to watch Jake Butt head north to AA.

Neither one of you 2 even got close to addressing Rico's real question. Now that Urban feels the need to offer McCray, why should McCray now go back on his word to Michigan?

There's a reason I didn't address that part of the question Willy. I don't feel that he should or will go back.

From what's been reported Baugh's as solid as solid could get. Why would it be a blow if Butt went north? We didn't offer him, just like how McCray finally got an offer. We didn't offer early in the game. It'll be okay if they both head north.

  • Bolden is probably our best LB recruit. There's no way that Williams is better than him.

You missed on Breneman. You missed on Heuerman. You are rapidly sliding off the radar for McNeill. I just figured that after Baugh decommits you will kick yourselves for not offering Jake Butt. He's actually ranked higher than Baugh on both Rivals and Scout and is in your own backyard, but hey you've got that great DL class from last year. Maybe one of them can double as a TE. shrug
