Mike Heuerman to ND

  • Baugh is in the 150 though. They both should move up. I expect Baugh to move up. He's been lighting up camps every other weekend. Butt should move up soon. If not, he will after his SR year

lol he was speaking about people emailing him "unflattering" emails about a loss to USC not buckeye fans in general. However on the subject i think if we "cooled" on him it was only because they felt him a lock not because they didnt want him and i for one wish him nothing but the best. He is a good kid and if ND is the school he thinks is best fit for him thats where he should he go. Most of the posts on bucknuts wished him luck but TE is not a position i am worried about. If we miss on Pocic i will be worried.

lol cooled on him right after he said he was committed to ND. I tried telling all you Buckeye homers he was far from a lock. Told posters on this board to be prepared for the excuses you guys would come up with. Hell I even posted a few things on your board. Thanks to everyone that said congrats!

actually nobody on the osu boards is saying that we cooled on him, but it is true that we didnt need him. we landed the number 3 te in the nation and have very limited scholarship left so most fans of ohio state realize that this was not a priority.
as for the belief that he was a lock that is true. many people who know more than i do with insider information claim that he told the staff that he was a commit to ohio state but then turned back on his word, which also in turn cause the staff to stop recruiting josh mcneil.
that said ohio state fans are really not that upset because of lack of need but nobody is claiming that we cooled on him, he just made a decision that was in all likely hood better off for him
after watching his film (i was late to see it) i realize what a great get he is for ND his tape is pretty nasty

I think you guys still get McNeil. Looks like tOSU staff was on phone with him as soon as Heuerman made announcement. He's already got a date scheduled for visit. You might get lucky with him not knowing what really went on when they dropped him for a few weeks. Only thing you have to worry about now is he blew up with offers in that short time. I'd say 2 TE's is a priority for your staff.

Lol what excuse did i give? Read a post before you reply to it. I said IF we cooled (meaning the staff not myself) then it was because we ( the staff) thought he was a lock not because we did not want him.

Given that we seem to be able to take pretty much whatever we want from Ohio these days, it seems a moot question.

I don't think he was talking about the state.

Imaginery lines do not define a person... there's a reason some great people/players are choosing to leave.

  • Out of curiosity, I keep seeing Michigan not being able to live without Ohio players... so who would you guys consider to be the most important Ohio born player on Michigan's Sugar Bowl winning team last year?

Fitz Toussaint or Jordan Kovacs. Maybe throw a bone to Koger (notKroger) and include him as well - just cuz we have had nothing at TE besides him.

My pick would be Kovacs too... I like Fitz a lot, but Kovacs has been the backbone of the defense forever it seems like.
