MSU isn't a very good football program.. takes year of consistent winning to get to that level. - copemoney 1/22/13

  • Was anyone else yelling at their TV for the color guy to shut up about the "read option"? It's called "playing point guard"...

    Has Morgan regressed?

I don't think he's regressed. Take a look at his defensive play and you can see a more experienced player. He still has his problems on offense (lack of shooting, finishing at the rim), but his overall play is probably better than it has been in the past. Along with this, don't forget about his MAJOR fouling troubles in the past few seasons. He has drastically improved on his fouling, which has helped the team significantly. There is no doubt McGary has closed the gap on Morgan, but I think it's more of McGary getting better than Morgan getting worse. There's a reason McGary was rated #2 in the country at one point. Either way, great to have both on our team.

We're going to need both McGary and Morgan in order to be successful in March. It would also be nice to get Horford more involved, but there's only so many minutes in a game.

Those are valid points. I think I posed the question as a result of comparing Morgan to McGary. Though McGary's body sometimes moves too quickly for his brain, he has shown flashes of ability we have not seen with Morgan.
