Michigan vs. South Carolina?

We beat Georgia 35-7 so that is a poor comparison haha

We didn't just beat UGA for a third year in a row....we dragged them up and down the field.

  • I'm not sure if I'm looking too much into this but on the Outback Bowl's website it says Michigan will face a top 10 SEC team. There are 3 possible top 10 SEC teams for this game, UGA, LSU and A&M, SCar is sitting at #11. If what everyone is saying is right about UGA to the Capital One and LSU to the Cotton, would that send the Ags to the Outback?

The Outback Bowl is a college football game matching teams from the SEC and Big Ten Conference. The game is a culmination of a week-long schedule of events throughout the Tampa Bay area.

The problem is that would force a rematch in the Cap One between Clemson and USCe, which seems unlikely.

  • Edit- I was looking at AP Poll, Scar is #10 in BCS.

My dreams have come true. We get a piece of South Carolina. Their defense is more than solid and very good pass rushers. But their offense is nothing to be concerned about, especially since Lattimore is gone. I think this is the best match up we could hope for. Two very evenly matched teams in my opinion. Here's to shutting up all SC fans.

Ace sanders , Andre Ellington, justice Cunningham and Busta Anderson say not so fast my friends

We have some dangerous weapons . When you have Shaw and Lattimore they don't see the ball as much . But they are both beat to hell

Thompson will sling the football .Threw for over 300 yards against a 10-2 Clemson team in only his second career start

You won't block Clowney all night

We lost to LSU and Florida both at their place . They did it with the running game . We turned the ball over a lot in the swamp .

    We play pretty sound football

    Great match up

I agree Clowney can't be blocked all night, but that's also the coaches moving him around the DL so the O can't account for him being in one spot all night. That's what worries me most with Clowney, seeing him line up all over the place and shredding our interior OL. Also, is Bruce Ellington officially done with this football season, or will he be around for the bowl game? I know he went back to basketball, but would assume the coaches of both teams would work something out. The TE's are a little scary since they are a mismatch against anyone, 6'4 and 6'5.

Hopefully by game time, Denard will be 100% but still used in a slash type of role with Gardner as QB. If Denard can throw the ball and keep the D honest, our O can make some plays. Hopefully Borges will put together a great game plan to reassure fans of the future and not just rely on Denard to pull it down and make a big play. Although at this point, I don't care what we do as long as we end the season with a W.

Bruce Ellington is only back with the basketball team until the end of this week. When the bowl practices start up next week, he will be back with the football team.

On a side note, I think everyone on here is overlooking South Carolina. I have watched every Michigan game this year as my wife is from Michigan. I know this will probably be contrary to what everyone is saying but I believe Michigan's best chance to beat us would be with Denard Robinson at quarterback because I do not believe that we will be beat by the pass only by Denard's mobility.

Any way should be a great game. Look forward to seeing all of the USC and Michigan fans in Tampa.

Start the lobbying via twitter Michigan fans to the @outbackbowl

What a match up it would be!

We want a piece of you!

Your not just going to get a piece(twirling his finger around), your going to get the whole thing.

Also, just wanted to thanks scar for the most amazing video of the year. The trainer/bruce ellington video, was the best video of the year.

Also, i love duck hunting. Had a cottage a hundred yards from a wdlife preserve(marsh) eight on the saginaw bay. Also, my dad was a championship caller. He called under art beauchamp and called with butch richinbok(rich in tone calls).

Third, the devin/denard combo is going to have its way with your front seven. I expect your corners and safeties being the top tacklers for tbe game!

  • and one more just because I can and LoL at Clemson.

But in all seriousness, the backfield is pretty solid. They have had a few "wtf" moments through the year though. Mostly due to young players being cycled in.

I didn't think they would keep Ellington out, just didn't know how splitting time between the two programs would work. I would assume his mind would be 100% on finishing the season strong, but you never know having that other distraction.

I don't think people are overlooking SC, especially me, since I live down the road from Columbia. But I think SC is the better match-up based off how GA is currently playing and what A&M has done this season. Don't forget Mich lost to 2 undefeated teams on the road who we played tough, the #2 ranked team, and a Neb team without Denard.

I think it should be a great game.

Denard at QB is problematic because his nerve injury has prevented him from gripping the ball well enough to throw. When Denard entered the game at QB against OSU in the second half, they started rolling nine up into the box and Denard got nothing.

I have a good friend who is a Gamecocks fan so I have watched several of their games, nonconference or otherwise. If the coaching staff comes out with an offensive gameplan that is anything like what they ran during the season, Michigan will be lucky to make it to the upper teens in points.

I think the defense is good enough to keep it close, and Michigan may get a shot to win it on their last possession. In all likelihood, however, I think Carolina wins by double digits.

South Carolina is likely better than both of those teams.

And Michigan didn't beat a team that was better than Vanderbilt.

I'd still say Vandy is the better team. That game was at Northwestern and the game was extremely even.

Plus Michigan needed a miracle to beat Northwestern at home.

I was simply putting our losses into perspective...only losing to 2 undefeated teams, a one loss team, and a team when we didn't have Denard. Trying to compare other teams and how they would match-up against other schools based off of losses does no good. Not sure why I even tried.

You're trying to say Vanderbilt was good because all of their wins came against opponents whose record was below .500? Who is to say they wouldn't be bottom feeders in our conference? All the, this team beat that team and this team lost to that team means your team would do X and Y.....never understood this. Anything can happen any given Sat or Sun, I guess if it was that easy on paper why should they play the games.

  • This may be the only watchable B1G bowl game this season. Should be a fun one. I'm not looking forward to any other game from the conference.

I always like watching Wisconsin lose but they'll probably end up winning vs Stanford. That I couldn't watch.
