Michigan vs. Ohio University game thread

  • Tough loss, but so far a great Tourney for the big ten. I would cut Burke some slack he's a freshmen and had a great year. You would not have been in the big dance without him. I read the broad and the big shooter, I don't think he has the quickness to play the three. Anyway losing in the opening round sucks. Hang in there. In closing you have to admit thanks to hoke losing to "Ohio" is a little ironic.

    Go big ten!!

Start this off by saying I am a Buckeyes fan but confused on why your mods delete posts as long as they don't swear or flame anyone personally. This is my first post but the greatest thing about these two schools are they are both GREAT universities and its fun going back and forth. I know how some of my Buckeye brothers feel like their day is not complete unless they come over here and stir it up. Michigan has nothing to be ashamed of they had a great year and will just keep getting better. The one thing I will say about Bucknuts is they allow the Michigan fans to troll over as you say and have their peace as long as its clean and after Gonzaga beats my Buckeyes tomorrow the "trolls" from here will give us our business! Can't wait for football they are battling in recruiting can't wait to see it on the field. Just my two cents thank you and hope everyone is safe from the bad weather and tornadoes....

This board stays crisp, tight and on point. I have to admit there's something to be said for this style. Its easy to quickly navigate through the information.

I don't think so. I have a feeling it's going to be Burke, Hardaway, Robinson, Smot and McGary.

Agree. No way will Beilein regularly have Morgan and McGary in together because they are not good enough shooters from outside.

Edit: Bielfeldt is a bit of a wild card. He might be able to challenge Smotz for playing time.

Not just him. I think the 3 of them(McGary, Stauskas and Robinson) provide an infusion of talent. If you watched the game tonight we had trouble finishing at the rim. These guys are much bigger and better athletes than the guys we have now. They should be better finishers and provide more athleticism and talent.

It will be nice to finally start to approach the talent level that MSU and OSU have had. Michigan did well this year and they only had two players who would really be considered above average (Burke and Hardaway). Novak and Douglass were great for the program but I feel like future Michigan players will be far better. And having McGary, Morgan, and Horford battling for playing time will help out a lot (and not having to worry about foul trouble quite as much). And guys like Smotrycz and Vogrich will have to continue battling for playing time which should help. A starting lineup of Burke, Hardaway, Robinson, Smotrycz, and McGary/Horford/Morgan would be nice to see.

Pretty much, yeah. That's why I rarely visit here anymore (I know, you guys really miss me ;-)). Even yesterday, at the start of March Madness, there were something like 2 threads on Mich's opening round game against Ohio and 18 threads about football recruiting. Mich fans just don't care about basketball...

It will be interesting to see if guys like Brundidge and Bielfeldt can crack the rotation. Brundidge was higher rated coming out of high school than Burke and really could add something to this team as well if he lives up to his billing. Bielfeldt is another big body who has some skill level who could provide some competition for a role player off the bench. Smot is a guy who has a lot of potential offensively but just needs to shore up his defense enough that he is not a total liability on the floor. If he could get 25 minutes a night there is no doubt in my mind that he averages double figures in points.

It's impossible to hold all fans accountable. But I do know that fans on this board are almost always respectful and don't go insane when we lose. When MSU loses Rcmb consists of a bunch of people saying that certain MSU players should die/kill themselves, the other team should kill themselves, the refs lost the game for MSU, Delany hates MSU, etc.. but yeah, we are the crazy ones over here.
