A GREAT video, but it sure seemed to be slanted towards ohio.
Ohio has had their moments, but they have generally played
2nd fiddle to us over the years. I simply do not understand
how or why the pendunts to be place ohio on such a pedestal?
Outside of cheating their lives off (ask players what they did),
then some may realize just how crooked ohio is in reality. No
wonder they won so often over the last few years.

  • Yeah... once they made it to the Woody Hayes era it basically becomes a documentary about Ohio. It even felt like most of Bo's camera time was spent talking about Woody. Then they segway into the Tressel years and its a full on buckeye love fest. Overall still worth watching at least once.

  • Is it a great documentary? Yes. Is it slanted towards Ohio? Yes. Did that stop me from liking it? No. I think we all enjoy the rivalry too much to let a little bias get in our way. But it is true; the documentary did seem to link everything about Bo to Woody, and it was tiring. The one thing I found amusing was that the film seemed to antagonize Ohio. roflmao

  • The deifying of Woody didn't even bother me so much. He is Woody Hayes afterall. It was the way they glossed over our dominance in the 90's, only to laud over Tress.

    2nd fiddle??????

the series is practically even over the last 50 years

Just curious, do you know how many games in the past decade you cheated in? As of now I think only one has been determined

15 games over 100 yrs isnt close????????

    are u smokin somethin funny?

not to mention 12 of those victories came when both schools just started playing football...

i mean harvad and yale have some great stats from that era too but it dont mean jack....

You're only saying it means nothing because you're on the losing end of it.

A game is a game, no matter what time period it was played. You think 100 years from now people are going to say these games now didn't mean anything?

Did you know a lot of your wins were before they actually played real football under modern rules? Seriously pre 1912 is a joke it was like rugby/Canadian football I mean research it before you boast about wins in a era that just really wasn't football. 3 downs, fgs worth more than tds, forward motion(arena style) forward pass was added in 1906 but had messed up rules but from 1912 on everything is legit and Michigan owns a slight lead from that point till now

Whatever the rules were, you still lost those games.

  • Right we lost games in a irrelevant era therefore don't boast about a all time record because those wins were when the gm wasn't the same hell u guys started out with no coach and racked up wins I mean the team with the most legit all time wins is Texas. Ohio St had a lot of wins in the old era as well (just not against Mich) but all those wins we had are also bogus.

    deadhorse

That is very close !! They (Urbans Boys) have had our number for years now. So we (Michigan) need to actually start winning that game to talk any kind of censored.

    Since I was born 1975

The series is 19-16 with one Tie as well in favor of Michigan so In My book the series is Much Closer than you thin.
Now as far as the overall record ya we are still kicking ass. But its close

Not sure if I would call it an "irrelevant era" . They did run, tackle and throw same thing they are doing now.. If I am correct.huh

That would be true if it wasn't for the fact that Michigan (Not Texas or Ohio State) had faced the toughest schedule of all time.

    Top 10 all-time toughest SOS:
    1. Michigan
    2. Georgia
    3. Texas
    4. Northwestern
    5. LSU
    6. Notre Dame
    7. Auburn
    8. Alabama
    9. Georgia Tech
    10. Illinois
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
    16. Ohio State

So, even with a weaker all time schedule, you still couldn't "rack" up more wins than us.

And the whole "It wasn't the same game it was back then!!!!111" argument. Well the same can be said for any time period. Football isn't the same game it was 10 years ago, or 20 years ago, or even 5 years ago. It's what happen when rules change, maybe one day you will understand that.

And before Fielding Yost, our program sucked and didn't "rack up wins" like you claim.

Learn some actual football history before you step up to the big boys.

  • I definitely wouldn't say we've played "2nd fiddle" to UM. Since 1950 we have 5 national championships to your 1/2, 26 big ten titles to your 23. Over 60 years of that kind of success is definitely not "2nd fiddle". Granted both schools have had their share of winning streaks throughout the decades (osu in the 60's and 2000's and um in the 70's and 90's) but in large part this rivalry has been very close with both teams having huge national success. That's what makes this the best rivalry in sports.

I agree, the rivalry has been close....on another hand Michigan has more tradition and history as a football program. Michigan was key to those early development stages/era of the game. Just one quick example, Fielding H. Yost invented the LB position....a position so near and dear to many Ohio fans
