Ditto. We'll need another solid WR class in 2014, and Holmes would be a great start.

Plus, pulling a kid out of STA will shut up all the Bucknuts who talk about how Urban's Florida ties will give them a recruiting advantage.

Definitely. It seems like Michigan wants him bad. He said Michigan is recruiting him the hardest and he talks to Coach Hecklinski, Coach Montgomery, Chris Singletary (recruiting coordinator), and Brady Hoke on the phone often.

Be honest first time I heard that.

I know it's been said on here before, but thats what Michigan has been doing with all their top recruits. They triple and quadruple team recruits, which is smart because it makes them feel more special and wanted. Then when these recruits go on their visits they already have a relationship with the coaches and they feel more comfortable. It's a smart tactic.

Which is what makes Bill Kurelic's article on Conley seem that much more bizarre. Some kids get 4 coaches talking to them, yet Kurelic makes it sound like nobody has talked to Conley in weeks?

Great to hear we are keeping up with Holmes, he'd be an awesome addition to the 2014 class.

Thank you Dizzo, that is the first thing I thought also.

Haven't we read other articles on other recruits talking about the coaches they talk to? That bucknut article doesn't line up with what we have heard from other recruits in the past.

If you choose to believe Sam Webb then no.

  • In general, some recruits will be in more regular contact with the coaches because they're more proactive about it. The NCAA regulations hamper each school's ability to reach out to the recruits. So if a prospect doesn't take initiative himself in certain situations, he may not be in contact with the school for a long period of time, and there isn't much the school can do about it.

Bill is just reporting what Conley is saying. He wouldn't make this stuff up. I do find it unusual that Conley hasn't spoken to a Michigan coach about his status as a commit recently. Usually commits have contact with a coach about twice a week so that part is not good but on the other hand, if his scholarship was pulled or he is no longer a part of the 2013 Michigan class, he would certainly be notified by a coach informing him of that.

The reason we're saying that Bill's article is questionable is because Conley told Sam Webb that he spoke with Mattison last week and Hoke last night.

Just to be clear, Sam never said that it was Conley who told him that he spoke with Hoke last night.

Webb usually gets his info right from someone within the football administration itself.

Dude you are literally the most negative poster I've ever seen. Every thread you always have something negative to say. Sometimes i doubt your a Michigan fan.

Umm, how is my post in any way even remotely negative? All I did was clarify what Webb said so that people don't go around misquoting him. He never claimed to have gotten his info directly from Conley.

  • What kind of WR is Holmes? I know that he is a taller receiver and also pretty light weight wise?
