You assume the coaches haven't reached out to WRs and that's where you are mistaken Top flight WRs just arent interested in UM. Outside of Devon Allen no top WRs sniffed the campus. The coaches can do all the reaching out but interest has to be reciprocated. Steve and Clint won't publish a report saying WR xyz was contacted by coach heck but didn't call coach heck back thus you don't hear of the efforts by the coaches.

Except Massington had interviews where he said he'd be interested in M if we reestablished contact after he decommitted from/got kicked out of USC, but that renewed contact never happened. I think there were similar statements by LaRue too, but not 100% sure. Not saying they were M locks if we had shown interest obv, but I don't think the coaches tried hard (if at all) to rekindle things there.

I really think that after the coaches saw the writing on the wall with Treadwell and grabbed Jones, they decided they liked what they had and that 3 WR was enough. Which, frankly, they have a point...3 WR for this class was the plan from the beginning and we'll have 9 scholarship WRs next year, which is fine numbers wise. And that's assuming JD Lewis doesn't move to offense, which is v possible. We'd all love to have touted 4-star guys at WR in this class, but I think it's clear the coaches are happy with what they've got.

Michigan will have 8 scholarship receivers - three seniors, a sophomore who hasn't caught a pass, and four freshmen. Eight seems a small number to me.

Norfleet got moved to CB from his RB position, I dont think Lewis is going to play offense. Stop the speculation because we dont have awesome WR's....Lewis is a CB

norfleet is never playing cb. they put him at cb in practice cause floyd was suspended. I never believe what the coaches are saying. coaches talking up norfleet like hes a great cb and that's why they are gonna put him there is a lie. it was just a cover up for the floyd suspension. they weren't going to tell you we are practicing fleet at cb because floyd is suspended; they didn't want anyone to know about the suspension.

Uh, who do you think you're talking to? I'm the one that's in the 2013 thread cheerleading for the coaches to get involved every time a big WR decommits or has coaching turmoil. I'm the one who got shouted down with "TRUST THE COACHES" after the questioning the Stribling, Sypniewski, and York offers this summer. I'm the one who catches flak for arguing that Deveon Smith is a nice player but not the potential game breaker we need at RB. I'm the one who is criticized for "not being realistic" about the coaches chances with top recruits from CA and the South. No one understands more than I do that elite programs require elite playmakers.

You're putting arguments in my mouth that I did not and would never make. The NFL post was only about remarking on a remarkable anomaly at the top of the NFL statistics this year. I have absolutely no interest in "settling for mediocrity." I expect that our coaches will go out and recruit and land the best players in the country. The only things I'm saying it are: (1) I think the coaches are done with recruiting WR in 2013 and (2) I think York and Dukes have a chance to turn into good players. That's it.
