Michigan recently offered Jay Hayes, and the Wolverines have already earned a spot on his short list. Click inside for the 2014 offensive guard's thoughts on Michigan.

  • Nice to see Michigan making a solid early impression. Here is a link to his player page.

  • I dont know if Georgia will offer though, because we have so many o line prospects already interested. Seems athletic enough if he can play olb and og. We shall see what happens in the future.

He's very close with Bauta, so I think Georgia would be a serious threat if/when the Bulldogs offer. It'll be interesting to see what Georgia decides to do.

  • I think we would have to sign a smaller than expected o line crop this year to offer him for next year, but I could be wrong. Im def going to follow his recruitment very closely

I like our chances here. Article a few months back was very positive and we've had great success in NY the last few cycles.

The tradition, academics and media exposure at both ND and Michigan really stand out to him. I think both schools will be in the thick of this one for the long haul.

  • I recall an interview from another blog that he grew up rooting for Michigan

He didn't mention that to me. He has followed Michigan, and knows about the tradition and the great players that have played in Ann Arbor, but he didn't say he actually grew up rooting for Michigan.

Ok, not sure if he was rooting for them, or always watched them when growing up....something to that affect....either way there is some legit interest I feel.

Definitely some legit interest. I think it's often a matter of semantics too - just because someone is a "fan" of a team, that doesn't necessarily mean that's the only team they're a fan of (a lot of recruits will tell me they've always been a "fan" of 7-8 different schools), or that they're even diehard fan in the sense that many people on this site are.
