He is a big dude. Looks like ND has their foot in the door. Some times that's all it takes. Will he stay a d-lineman with that size and potential of getting bigger?

Yeah he could easily be a DE in 4-3 or 3-4 defensive scheme. ND has the premier defensive line in the midwest. UM has some catching up to do.

Never thought MSU was a real threat for McDowell, but ND definitely is. We need him much more than they do and he is right in our backyard. He is the #1 guy on my wish list for 2014. If we lose him to ND my head will explode.

As Steve said, Malik plans on playing defense. But as you alluded to, I think he could be an elite offensive tackle if he put his mind to it.

If McDowell can walk away from his home state, that also includes a phenomenal D-Coordinator, a Head Coach that works w/ the D-Line, and a bunch of momentum from the past 2 recruiting classes... i'd be absolutely stunned.

I was always unclear why MSU thought they had a chance with McDowell. I am sure he is considering them, but the level is one notch below UM and ND. I believe I was ridiculed previously for stating McDowell had ND as an option. People never learn.

Meh. We thought beating ND last year would help with Elmer. It just made him realize how much he wanted ND to win that game and he committed to ND shortly after.
