Delusional is a very good assesment.

They honestly think as far as tradition goes their up there with us.

And we have to deal with that every day. fingergun

I know the status quo is that their OLine is gonna manhandle our DLine .. but I'm pretty sure coach Montgomery has let them know how bad they're being disrespected. I think the DLine shows life and makes a few big plays here and there. I really think we pull this out guys.

The dline being that much bigger with QW rather than Beyer, is great to see.

Just to throw it our there because I can, does Pipkins now sitting at 3rd at NT and QW beinga junior mean Pipkins gets to RS?

I would be shocked if Pipkins doesn't work his way into the rotation at some point this year.

Ditto. He's too good and we're too thin up front for him not to push for significant playing time.

EDIT: Of course, we're not LITERALLY thin up front, we do have BWC...

  • I think Michigan can keep this one close and maybe win it if the D-line can just clog up the interior running lanes. Lacy will be far less dangerous if we can get him going laterally instead of up the gut. If that line can keep their O-line off of our linebackers so they can get to Lacy, we could force Bama to throw more allowing our secondary to make some plays. That being said I think Bama gets us but not by much. Bama 24 Michigan 17. I hate saying that!!!!!!

They were good under Woody Hayes, but other than that meh.

They are as delusional as they come, and I'm not just saying that because of the rivalry UM and OSU has. They REALLY are a disliked fanbase by most, if not all of CFB. That's just how it is.

I would put Auburn's up there as well. Their fanbase is not delusional, they are full blown retarded. Good Luck to ya'll Saturday night. Hopefully we can get out withoout any major injury's to either team.

Reasonable Wolverine is being reasonable, although I think the spread will be a little bigger.

Just keep 16 upright and get him out of there alive.

We Bama fans aren't quite sure what to think bc Saban is as close to giddy as he's ever been over a team in August. He's actually smiled in press conferences this year. While the star power isn't nationally known yet, there's some guys on this team that will have breakout games.

People think there's going to be serious dropoff. But everybody but Trent is back on O. This will be the best OL we've ever had. We'll get the same running production we got last year.

And Lacy's fine, y'all. He played the entire season last year with turf toe. You'll get him for awhile, then Yeldon and then the sledgehammer (Jalston Fowler) to finish.

    Tide 27-6.

  • I'm guessing it will be somewhat similar to last years Alabama-Penn St. matchup. Michigan stays within striking distance until they can't answer a score in the fourth and stays down by a couple scores through the rest of the game. I do think there will be more scoring because Al Borges will know he has gotta pull out all the stops, meaning more possessions.

    Alabama 31, Michigan 21

You think Michigan manages next to nothing on offense and should just worry about keeping Denard in tact?

Michigan averaged 32 ppg last year and should be even better. What's more, the drop off is expected on defense, where Alabama is replacing six (!) NFL draft picks, including three first rounders.

I find it really doubtful that Michigan only manages six points.

Has anyone talked to an Alabama fan who has predicted anything less than a blowout? How about a prediction that doesn't involve the prophecy of a dead quarterback? Anyone? Anywhere?

    Nope, because it's never happened.

What about Smelly, Maize and Hankins? They played offense last year I don't think any of them are back.

27-24 Bama we miss a 43 yarder at the end of the game to send it to overtime.

    Amazinglyblue78

  • I do. Here's why - in 2010 coming off our national title year, we had zero real game experience in the 2ndary except for Barron. This year, Milliner (CB) has started, Robert Lester (SS) led the country in INTs two years ago and is a 2-yr starter and JUCO transfer Deion Belue is giving Saban flow, if you know what I mean. Vinnie Sunseri (S) also played a TON last year.

Up front, all three players that are back started last year. At LB, Nico Johnson has been playing for 3 years, just wasn't better than Hightower. CJ Mosley is a projected 1st-2nd rd draft pick. The only position where there'll likely be significant dropoff is at Jack, where Upshaw played. ILB Trey DePriest played a TON last year too.

Point I'm getting at is at 9 of 11 spots on the field there's a returning starter or someone who has played significantly. This isn't a defense where there's what YOU think are "new" people everywhere.

So yes, I think you get dominated up front on both sides of the ball. You guys are on your way, but you're too soft and slow up front to play with us right now for 60 whole minutes. Yes, Denard can run. Big deal. At some point he's going to have to set his feet and throw, and the ball hawks in our 2ndary ain't Va Tech or Purdue.

So damn right, better keep him up right, get the ball out quick and try to keep the ball as much as possible bc the longer your young, soft, weak DL stays on the field and gets pounded, the worse it'll be in the 4th quarter. This program understands what playing 60 minutes of championship football is all about against good people. Y'all are still trying to figure that out.

TONS of respect for Hoke, though. Unless he plays Fitz, which he won't unless there's reasonable circumstances none of us knows about.

    27-6.

You say "TONS of respect for Hoke," Then you call his team weak and soft on both sides of the lines.

Sorry to break it to you but your DL will struggle with Michigan's OL, it is a very good group that will create running lanes and time to throw for Denard.

You can say that Bama's defenders have played a ton and gotten used to each other in practice, but nothing compares to a game.

Michigan's DL may be unproven, but they are not weak or soft.

  • They're weak and soft NOW maize&blue21. Because he's there, they won't always be. And we won't struggle at all on the DL. All three down linemen are returning starters, all are NFL-talented. Too much size, strength and depth, brother. Speed? Not even close. You'll look stuck in the mud comparatively.

No, they aren't weak and soft now. That's an incorrect statement.

Bama's DL is good at stopping the run, but they aren't pass rushers and unless Bama blitzes the LBs on every play, Denard will have time to make a throw.

Speed? Yeah, it probably isn't that close, but it doesn't matter if a player isn't in the right position to make a play or when they pick the wrong gap.

Don't take this the wrong way, but there seems to be a general sense of nervousness or uneasiness among Alabama fans about this game. All this talk about how overmatched we are and how you are going to hurt our QB, and doing it on our board even, it's almost as if you're trying to convince yourselves you're not gonna lose. Hey, just relax. It's just a football game. If you lose, you lose. You can still play for an SEC title and have a shot at a decent bowl game.

K, just remember, I'm talking by comparison. Bama blitzes from everywhere. DRob's head will be spinning. And hurting.

Plus, he's all fired up with his chest stuck out about Saban telling the media he's the most dynamic player in college football since Cam. Psychology. Love it.

We still have to play the game though, right? Teeeeechnically we don't have a loss in the books quite yet.

Michigan needs two years, I get it. Recruiting is where it needs to be and hoke is preaching toughness. But we may surprise you a bit. They say this is the most physical camp we have seen and its shown up in injuries. our talent is not where it needs to be but Michigan should be fired up.

You act like Denard is a statue in the pocket. You would never know, but he has some speed to avoid the blitz.

I'll tell you what, I bet you Denard hasn't watched any TV this week and doesn't know Saban called him the best player since Cam. Guarantee he doesn't have a stuck out chest, the guy is too humble for that.

Sorry, but you're talking out of your a**. Denard isn't a cocky person. And just because Saban gives somebody a compliment doesn't mean he is trying to play the "Psychology game". lol
