Damn, you mad.
Not at all but the mattison ravens D pitch is so rediculous. Come on now, I've read a ton of your posts and your a reasonable poster who follows the game closely. You can't support a post pumping the tires on that weak theory. Not a single fan who actually knows sports would give mattison an ounce of cred for stepping in and working on the ravens D. Dude was there what, 23months?

Mattison stepped in and had a defense full of good players playing at a very high level in his scheme.
I think the difference between Greg Robinson's defense and Mattison's defense at Michigan should be clear enough evidence of the importance of a Defensive Coordinator. A bad D-coordinator can take a team full of very good players and make them look like crap. Regardless of who you have on your team, it still takes a good defensive coordinator to utilize your team correctly. While Mattison may not have developed the guys I mentioned, it's ludicrous to think that he wasn't partially responsible for their success. At the very least, you have to admit that he knows how to use players and he knows how to scheme.

I won't argue the importance of a good defensive coordinator in the least bit, that's for the big 12. We have the top two defenses statistically in the league and both of them are top ten nationally in both scoring defense and total defense if I'm not mistaken. Our defense is the only reason were not 2-6 at this point. I agree and think mattison is a good d coordinator without question. I just think the ravens were sick prior to his arrival, and they've been as good since. Their recent struggles are injury related and have nothing to do with scheme, not debatable. It's like inheriting a successful business and taking the credit for building it.
I haven't picked a fight on this board in six months and if you read through my posts you'll see that. I'm fairly objective but I'm not going to take grief from those two.xxmgobluexx

Don't think that we have forgotten how two-faced you can be. Many here know your history.
Btw, I get your point. Urban Meyer's scheme made Alex Smith into the 1st overall pick. But only Jim Harbaugh can take credit for turning Alex Smiff into Alex Smith.
However, Greg Mattison deserves credit for maintaining the Ravens defense as one of the best in the league. Just like any coach, he had to overcome some injuries as well.

Too sensitive and easily rattled? I said MSU sucked and you said my mom sucked. You're an idiot and you are lucky to be on a board that has mods as lenient as this one, because if you posted what you did and have posted, you would be instantly banned.

My history? Give me a break. Your referring to an argument I got in with TAMU and a few others around 6 months ago. There's nothing two faced at all about defending yourself albeit maybe a little too aggressively but for the most part I give credit where it's due.

I thought Michigan was the team to beat here, but after visiting with Malik, his father and coach over the weekend, I think Notre Dame is right there with the Wolverines. Obviously there will be future developments and McDowell will visit more schools and see more things, but I think this is shaping up to be a classic Michigan-Notre Dame recruiting battle and both schools have a great shot at this point.
