I thought Michigan was the team to beat here, but after visiting with Malik, his father and coach over the weekend, I think Notre Dame is right there with the Wolverines. Obviously there will be future developments and McDowell will visit more schools and see more things, but I think this is shaping up to be a classic Michigan-Notre Dame recruiting battle and both schools have a great shot at this point.

ND has always worried me more than MSU or OSU or even Bama. And I will be shocked if USC doesn't make a run at him too.

That is true. They need to upset either Wisconsin, Nebraska, or Northwestern, and then win the toss-up game vs Minnesota. They have an outside shot at becoming bowl eligible.
