May be it for Storm Klein

  • Apparently he was arrested for Domestic violence.

He wrapped his arms around her, scraping her arms and slammed her into a door. Apparently there are pictures of the victim taken as well.

I don't usually like to pick at peoples off the field issues at this level, due to youth and ignorance... but Klein is older now, and Domestic violence is not something I take lightly. If the story is true, I don't imagine him being on the team much longer.

Lets see if roid rage was attributed to this event before rushing to judgement

  • He already plead not guilty but there's apparently pretty damning evidence against him in this case. If he's beating up on women, see ya later.

Update:He has now been kicked off the team

Good call, that's pretty much what I expected. I've heard he was in a domestic situation before, but didn't know how much truth there was to that. This is something that hopefully, and deservedly ruins his playing career.

Appreciate the thread - clicked on it a few times- just very reluctant to post cuz beating women issues Piss me off.
Urban Meyer is in colombus now- us Michigan fans/ alums are gonna see lot more of Ohio players gettin into legal issues...

I believe Klein was recruited by Tressel.

Yep. imagine how many more are going to be arrested when he gets his own guys on campus.

You may be right but I wouldn't attach this one to him. I think Meyer will be careful in the beginning because OSU is on probation and a major violation could lead to major sanctions. Klein had some issue last year with a fight I believe so in this instance he is probably just a bleepity bleep. I'll let you fill in the bleeps....

Ha, Meyer doesn't care about OSU, if they get caught for something again, he'll just leave.

  • Certainly I hope the victim in this case is okay and that long term damage wasn't done.

That being said I will add my smart ass comment. Apparently Storm wasn't in the circle of trust.

I believe ur rite-but that point is so delusional. Urbs is in charge now, I read all bout urbs big speech about rules n such - pissin in public/ running from cops/ Beating women up- seems urbs big speech really made a mark.

He was at a house party a week or two before the season of his sophomore year and got in a fight and missed the first two or three games.

There is nothing delusional about my point. You insinuated that because Meyer was in Columbus that more players would be getting into legal trouble. I simply pointed out Klein has not only had issues before Meyer arrived but wasn't even a kid recruited by Meyer. It's true Meyer has had numerous athletes get into trouble that he recruited but this is one kid I wouldn't pin on him. Honestly, I wouldn't pin most trouble from athletes on the coach unless they recruited them. I think when you recruit a kid for 2 or 3 years you get to know them and where they come from and have an idea of whether or not they may get into trouble, those are on you.

  • I want to hear the evidence before judging.....I dont care that Storm is an OSU player and I UM diehard....I know nothing of the circumstances of what happened. Are there eyewitness accounts to any improprieties?

Seriously? How did Urban in Columbus equate to Klein being arrested? If anything, the action Urban took was swift and decisive. You abuse, you're gone.

Obvoiusly the kid has issues- hope he works thru em. Point being ur Bucknutter buddy "well urban didn't recruit him" it's urbans job to mentor and teach these Ohio players to be men outside of football- Ive yet to see any change since he's been there - dude hasnt Even coached a game yet! And there's dudes gettin arrested Like flint thugs.. Tressel is off the clock- still nothing has changed-

    Slugjuice

  • @slugjuice - urban meyer has had less than a year with these kids, and you think he can take the abusive nature out of an abuser? Get a grip. Urban cut him loose before you had a chance to even make a post.

So with this logic we can blame Hoke for Stonum's drinking problem??

    Ronbo78

  • Yeah I don't see any way Urb can be brought in to discredit for this... a player screwed up, and paid the consequences. If he'd a kept him on board, or given him a weak suspension then i'd be having a whole new set of problems w/ this. I put this on Klein, and Klein alone... he's a POS, being as big and strong as he is and have the nerve to manhandle a woman? Disgraceful.

Meh. Urban has a history of such things. I expect this type of thing to become much more common in Columbus now that Urban is there.

The difference here is Klein was average at best, Stonum was our number 1 wideout this upcoming season. When one of Urb's studs mess up, we'll see how he handles it, aka not do anything.

    MichaelHardenII

  • Klein was the returning starting middle linebacker. He was likely beaten out by Grant this year. However, Urban dismissed one of our stud DB's shortly after he arrived, so can't really make that argument either. There's only so much you can place on the back of the coach for actions like this, all comes down to how you discipline the kid after the fact and see how the expectations are set on the front end. So far, Urban has said zero tolerance for violence against women and he's held true.

Bottom line, you cant control what other people do.....you can establish as many check and balances, along with mentoring as you can, put people make their own decisions.
