I know Montgomery was a solid coach and a great recruiter. But it is possible that Michigan upgraded their staff with the Manning hire. Obviously the proof will be in the pudding, but he seems to have all the characteristics Montgomery had plus he played at Michigan and in the NFL.
I'm very excited about the hire and look forward to big things on the field and on the recruiting trail.

Wow, great interview. This is the kind of coach that will be an infectious spirit. He'll make a great coach with all of his experience and he'll make an amazing recruiter with all of his passion for Michigan. That interview reminded me a lot of Hoke with how he realizes what a special place Michigan is, and recruits/parents/coaches will be able to tell how much he loves the university.
Really excited about this hire and what he'll do on the recruiting trail and with LBs like Ryan.
