    Well we could import some girls from Texas and dress them up in Maize and Blue. Seriously, we have so much to offer his trip will be successful. If he loves our coaches he will come.

  • Speight and Ferns need to make this trip! They need to get him as comfortable as possible. Too bad Derrick Green can't get on campus then too but I believe he is coming for the IU game this sunday

  • Geez, bringing alot of people I guess, I think Da'shawn is already smitten with UM, but if we can get the parents and coach to fall in love with it.....then IMO its a done deal. Especially if VT has another average or below average season. The kid's priorities to academics are awesome to hear and I think its sincere, but everyone also wants to play for a championship team and UM seems to be closer to that than VT right now. Also the comparison of Bud Foster and Mattison is interesting. That's a tough choice to make. I just have this feeling that we could seriously have an early commit from Hand. He doesn't seem like the type of guy that does a hat show or waits til NSD to make a decision. If we blow Da'shawn, his coach, and parents away on this visit....I think we could see a commit some time in the near future after he leaves. Having Ferns and/or Speight to hang out with during some down time could be huge as well. Be ready Wolverine Nation....

    While I'm not nearly as optimistic as you regarding a commitment (I think he takes multiple visits and decides in the fall), I do think it's huge that he's brining the full posse here. Nobody brings their parents and family on a visit that isn't serious. If he was just planning on partying and enjoying the women, he'd be alone, but bringing the full crew is both an indication of his interest and an opportunity for us to just blow them away with how awesome Michigan is.

    Yes, I am optimistic with Hand as well. However, I am tempering my enthusiasm for fear of the 'Enthusiasm Cops' busting me for being too positive. In all seriousness, Michigan has all the elements he wants in a school.

    If this comes down to a purely football decision, I give Michigan the edge. If this comes down to a purely academic situation, I give Michigan the edge. Any combination in-between leans to Michigan. The one factor we could be common with VT is the family atmosphere, and team chemistry. This is probably the battleground between us and VT. The question .... how does Hand prioritize the above in his eyes?
