Maize Rage road trippers should be embarrassed

That's not entirely true. I had many conversations during the year with Spartans who kept saying our D wasn't any good.

As far as whose D is better that is really debatable. MSU's D didn't allow the yardage we did but they were prone to giving up just as many points. I think the reason for that is they gave up bigger plays. In my opinion, its all about how many points you give up since that's what matters on the scoreboard. So, I would say our D was just as good as theirs since we actually had a better scoring D.

Did you factor in that we played the best offense by far in the B1G twice last year? Certainly that would impact the stats significantly. Not to mention your three best wins last year (sans BCS) all came against opponents that MSU had to face on the road. I don't need to also point out that offenses almost across the board play better (more points / yards) at home than on the road.

  • To clarify, I am taking nothing away from UM's defense. I was actually quite impressed, especially from where they were ranked in prior year. I just don't believe they compare favorably to MSU's D last year.

  • Nice man to clarify we don't give a crap what you thought and think.

Actually MSU was 7-1 in conference last year but yeah i can see 6-2 winning the division.

Damn good call but I'll still stick with 10-3. I predicted 8-4 last year and was pleasantly mistaken; hopefully I am again this season.

Of course i factored that in. I also factored in the fact that you played an FCS school and the absolutely worst offensive team in the country in FAU. Those two basically balance out the Wisconsin games. We played MSU at Spartan Stadium. We got Ohio State late in the year when they had all their players back and their freshman QB had started more than 1 game.

Ranked in prior year? Your posts disgust me.

I think your prediction is completely reasonable. Originally i just wanted to know if you felt we got our 10th win in the Big Ten title game or if we lost that game.

Good thing you had 6 years to save up the money to buy them.

Nah...burned one in '03 cuz it was cold (and to bring back memories of CedarFest rockon).
Burned one in '05 for Final Four.
Burned one in '07 for Hockey.

What are you talking about? UM's D had an abysmal ranking in 2010. In 2011 they played great. Do you care to dispute that? Didn't you minimize MSU's 4 victories because they beat the worst UM teams in 179 years? Gimme a break.

  • Good point on OSU. FAU does not compromise 2 games against a national top 5 offense. For comparative purposes, we would consider the FAU game equivalent to your EMU game. Fair? Obviously EMU was more potent on O than FAU but I don't think you can hang your hat on that one.

Ah ok sorry I think we'll win the conference game. I just don't see a strong team that's eligible to play the conference championship game coming from that division.

Thanks, but if you actually try to understand an opponent's point of view you never know, you might learn something.

Thanks for responding to my irrelevant post though.

I was saying the FCS opponent and FAU made up the 2 games against Wisconsin. And i do not agree that FAU equals EMU when you are comparing defenses. FAU is horrible offensively.

I spend most of my time on tBB to get a broader perspective on CFB and Michigan. What some MSU slappy has to say about Michigan's defense, or whatever you are topping off about is not really going to help me learn anything. You hate Michigan so why would your opinion of Michigan be of any value to us here? Your opinion is clouded with hate.

No problem. Hopefully you take the message back to tRCMB that we don't care what you (MSU fans) think, and coming here is a waste of time. That way I don't have to go through this again.

  • I've never expressed hatred to UM. As such, I would expect that you would value/respect my opinion on your team as an "outsider" per your claim that you seek broader perspectives on CFB and Michigan.

Perhaps it is you that cannot overcome your hatred for another school to have a mature conversation.

I never said FAU equals EMU. They are peers in the comparative schedule game.

Not exactly sure what you are trying to argue. If you are saying that FAU was your easiest game and EMU was ours then sure but that is meaningless. We need to look at FAU as compared to EMU and that is not even close. FAU won 1 game and had the absolute worst offense in the nation. EMU won 6 games and was a much better offensive team than FAU.

  • Big picture buddy. I said EMU's O was much more potent than FAU's. For an apples to apples comparison, I thought EMU would be the opponent UM faced that is most similar to FAU. Then, you compare the EMU O to FAU O. What is so hard to understand?

That's what the tBB is for. Hey I am just paying you the same respect tRCMB treats Michigan fans. This forum is about MICHIGAN football and sports. Not about Michigan State and what their fans think.

Fair enough, I guess all fanbases have "that" type of fan.

Insults on the internetz just don't really bother me. What does is every thread turning into Sparty fans begging for respect. You want to talk about this tBB has a Michigan vs. Michigan State thread that is 100% dedicated to flaming, and hearing the other schools opinion of each other. It's perfect for this type of discussion, you should take your concerns about UM's defense over there.
