Longtime UM fan/internet recruiting follower, new 247 poster...

  • Greetings gentlemen (and a few ladies I'm sure),

I've been following Michigan recruiting on the internet for years now under the same username as I'm using here, so a few of you may recognize me from elsewhere based on just that. But I've now decided to take the plunge and subscribe to 247 Sports. So I just wanted to check in and, er, "introduce" myself, so to speak.

Very excited to see what kind of content and discussion gets generated here, and to get to know some new Michigan fans!

Anyone have any advice about which posters to pay particular attention to in terms of their keen football or basketball insight, or due to their inside connections within Michigan Athletics? Any posters I should brace myself for or ignore? (lol) Any cool or particularly unique features that this site puts out that I should keep a special eye out for?

Happy Friday, folks. I'll be seeing you all around.

    -Luke

P.S. I was just about to click "post new topic," until I saw the option for making this post open to subscribers or not. Never seen this feature on any other site; most of them have free and premium boards that exist separately. So... to you Michigan fans who actually subscribe here, is it common practice to "keep discussion within the family," or do we tend to throw open all of our thoughts for anyone browsing the network to see? Thanks in advance.

  • Welcome Luke. I believe I've seen you on The Wolverine quite a bit. There are a lot of knowledgeable posters here too, and the staff does a great job staying on top of recruiting. They plan to add more writers to cover the day-to-day football stuff and I think they will fill that role(s) with somebody very qualified.

You will see a lot more trolls on here since other site posters can jump in and say what they want, but there are also a lot of good ones that bring conversation to the table. You'll find that you like this site as much as, if not more than The Wolverine. It's hands down better than Scout.

    welcome

You'll figure out who to pay attention to and who to ignore soon enough. Generally speaking, we have an awesome community here already. The good posters give their opinions and explain why. This board doesn't have much in the way of off-topic discussion yet (that doesn't mean it's discouraged or forbidden), it's mostly just pure recruiting talk. If you want to get your fill of off-topic discussion and arguing with other fanbases (personally, I love it) go to the national board which I've linked below.
