He is still playing lights out without his TE, Adam Breneman.

Yep. Sucks for Breneman, but this way Ford can prove himself.

Just FYI, many PSU fans assume he's ours if we offer.

There seem to be a number of very good QB's out there. And most of these kids are being hyped/rated based off of sophomore play. Have to think there are kids emerging during their junior years too.

  • Henderson and O'Connor are the best QBs I've seen for the 14 class.

I'm a little disappointed O'Connor reclassified. I don't know how he'll feel about only one year of separation from Shane if we really make a push for him.

That said, I agree with you that these are my top two for '14. However, I think it's more realistic that we end up with a Tyler Wiegers or Deshone Kizer.

Sure, but I have no interest in speculating what is the best order of our 8-10 QB prospects for the class. I just want someone with mobility, who is not like John Navarre, who gives us more dual threat.....Who would this be from your analysis guys? I know Kizer and Barker are probably near the top for mobility.

I don't know Awink, I kind of think Michigan football fared pretty well with statuesque QB's like John Navarre, Chad Henne, Elvis Grbac, Brian Griese, Tom Brady, Todd Collins...the list could keep on going.

People always talk about the changes in college football, however the most dominant team is Alabama and they still play the game old school. With a pro-style, ball control offense, dominant D and good special teams.

Sure, not taking away from the past Michigan QB's, but in a situation where things break down and improvision is necessary, I want someone who will be able to use their legs to complement their accurate/strong arm....rather then not being able to improvise in that way

  • DeShone Kizer is the truth. I watched early highlights of his junior season and I was very impressed. He is without a doubt my #1 choice at the QB position in the 2014 class.

Also, the game is evolving (as it should). While pocket passers will always be coveted, an increasing number of coaches want passing-oriented QBs that can also make plays with their feet. These QBs put tremendous pressure on a defense because they can salvage broken plays and make something out of nothing.

Kizer fits this mold perfectly. A number of people have told me to not judge Kizer with his lackluster camp performances. He is the consummate gamer - meaning when the lights shine brightly, he plays well and leads his team to victory. And I think that's fitting given that he and his father are very fond of Otto Graham. That's why Kizer wears #14.

  • I don't have an order, but I would be really, really excited if we land any one of these QBs:

    Caleb Henderson
    Deshone Kizer
    David Cornwell
    Michael O'Conner

IMO, I think the fact that we have Shane Morris in 2013 will allow us to take a raw guy with huge potential. That guy is Kizer. He has a long way to go and there's definitely a risk there that he won't pan out, but having Shane allows us to take that risk on Kizer. I'd love to take a guy with his size and athleticism.

    My thoughts exactly. Kizer '14!

  • Cornwell, Henderson, and Kizer are in my top group for 2014. (I didn't include O'Connor because he could be 2014 or 2015.)

However, it seems to me that the coaches are not as interested in Kizer as I hoped they would be. (I could be completely misreading the situation.)
