Lemonier, the enemy of Spartan football

  • I'm LMAO at the anti Lemonier post over on the Spartan blog. From the sounds of it Lemonier is the main reason for Mediocre State U's downfall. We should get Lemonier in there every game we play them.

  • I really dont think it was a blatently bad call. He chose to play the man instead of the ball and got called. IMO it was a 50/50 call...he made contact, leaned in on and pinned Bells left arm.

It was a terrible call. But there were equally bad calls against Nebraska earlier in the game. B10 officiating has been awful this year, especially on PI calls.

  • Funny thing is Lemonier has been there numerous times as a facilitator of the Spartan meltdown in other games. They know him well. Perhaps Lemonier doesn't like dirty teams.

  • Yeah, I though it was a terrible call as well. You cannot call that and decide the outcome of the game.

  • I didn't think it was a bad call. When i saw the play the first time live i thought it was pass interference. Haven't seen anything to change my mind.

  • Lemonier didn't personally make any of those PI calls or the personal foul for the block on the interception return that got called back. Just because he's the head referee doesn't mean that he makes every call on the field. Are people really that dopey?

It is the sparty fanbase. Just saying.

  • A penalty is a penalty, it doesn't matter what time the game clock says. The Spartans childishly complaining that Delaney and the world hates them shows what kind of program they are.

I thought they were bad Saturday and Sunday but my god. They have totally lost all sense of reality. Hell they should just call their school pres, AD, etc.... asking to leave the Big Ten. lol

MSU isn't a very good football program.. takes year of consistent winning to get to that level. - copemoney 1/22/13

He also called the UM/MSU game from 2011 when MSU had 160 yards of penalties, the B1G title game (running into Punter that ended game) and the 09 Iowa game with PI in the end zone that setup Stanzi's 2 yard slant when time expired

He's been the head ref in multiple games where him, or his staff, penalized MSU that directly influenced the game.. Refs have biases for sure- could just not like MSU and those 50/50 judgement calls are simply made more times than not, regardless of the score or situation

It's probably more likely that MSU's play is on the edge of legal, and sometimes they push it too far. I don't have the numbers, but i've always thought MSU to be one of the most penalized teams in the conference.

Come on Cope, take off the tinfoil hat. Don't commit the penalties and it isn't an issue. Blame falls squarely on MSU.

Your right MSU isn't a dirty team at all lol they didn't deserve any personal foul penalties. Also if you look back to past games/years to see what refs called what game you are pretty much a nerd.
