Sorry about that, hard for me to read through text. I wasn't trying to troll -- I know nothing about Michigan DL recruiting, it was merely an off-hand assessment based on my very limited knowledge as usual. I'll keep my mouth shut, I've been posting too much on this forum lately for an OSU fan anyway! haha. My apologies!

Exuberance is due to recruiting momentum. At this point, it seems unlikely he ends up back at OSU. He very well could, but how often do kids decommit from a school and end up back there? (excluding the SEC). Now OSU can't claim they're conquering the state of Michigan in recruiting, he can't help Webb and their staff recruit other players in the state, etc. Also, he happens to be a very good talent who our coaches want in this class quite badly.
As for OSU, Marshall decommitting--talent wise--for them is like Denzel Ward decommitting from us. While both are high-ceiling players who we'd love to have, our O-line is stacked, as is their D-line. We will both fill the spots with great prospects respectively. Only difference here is that Marshall was from the rival state, whereas Denzel is just tall.

I was a bit shocked by his commitment to OSU in the first place, in all honesty. Has he looked at the depth-chart? OSU has 2 5* and 2 4* DEs in the last two classes. And that's discounting 4* Joey Bosa who may end up at DE. No way he was starting until at least his Jr, if not his Sr year if the others pan out the way they should. Even if he REALLY liked OSU, I would have given MSU and UM a better look. UM has 2 4* DEs in the last two classes, MSU has only 1. He could likely start relatively early at either program, Michigan being just as good a football program as OSU's.

Can any of you bucknuts read? Nobody said we didn't want him. We were saying that losing a mid/low 4* rated in state kid was not the end of the world and wouldn't hurt Michigan all that bad because we figured we could land an equally good recruit. Marshall is a good player that any team should be happy to land but I don't view him as a 5* must get from your own state type of player.
