Laser Rocket or Bellomy in 2013?

    Yup. I have always thought that...assuming of course he gets the extra year. I would be bummed if he didn't.

    Yeah, it'd be much better to have 2 years with him as a starter than 1.

  • We need a passing game. Dg should be the qb from here on out. We will never beat the buckeyes with the pitiful passing game and redzone offense of the past few games.

  • The buckeyes have a real offense and our offense struggled against a defense that Braxton Miller and company put sixty on. The opponents have figured out how to shut down the one dimensional offense. 8 quarters without a rd prove that. 6 with Dr In there.

    Our offense with our backup (now probably third string) QB struggled against that defense. That tells us nothing.

    Maybe you're right, but then again, I haven't seen much to suggest that OSU has a legit Defense. It will be a good game, I can't wait.

    yes, average. his arm is not all that. no upgrade in passing if we put him in. we have a better chance of winning with DG at qb than bellomy, but DG's arm is nothing special.

    I wasn't talking about wins and losses. I was talking specifically about how well Denard played in that game. I haven't seen anything this year from OSU's D to make me think it will be any different this year if Denard is healthy and able to play.

    lol gardner had 12 completions against a bad team and you guys make him a Heisman. everybody judges way too early. let him do that against a good defense and I will say he has an above average arm. doing it against minny is not that impressive. anybody that thinks dg should start over denard the next three weeks knows nothing. denard would of put over 400 total yards against minny easily. gardner is 100 times better than bellomy but don't start calling for denard to get benched. denard gives us a better chance to win. lets see him against a good pass rush with pressure in his face trying to throw it against good db's. I know the first time gardner has a bad game almost all of you are going to call for DG to get benched. DG can't beat ohio and we all know that

    Didn't Minnesota have one of the top passing efficiency defenses in the B1G coming into this game.

    Go watch Michigan's first TD. There is no way the Denard could have made that throw, or even the deep pass to Gallon that wasn't a TD. Denard may be the better option at QB, and I think he is, but Devin has the better arm.

    I have optimism for next year now. I thought this year was an 8-4 season based on the schedule. I was thinking next year was going to be a 7-5 to 8-4 season with Bellomy or Morris starting. With Gardner, I think this team can compete for the B1G title. 10 win season is possible.

  • Very impressed by Gardner's performance, but we're talking about Minnesota here. Bellomy is absolutely 100% out of the question for 2013, however I still wouldn't be surprised of Morris comes in and competes for the starting role. It would be nice to give Laser Rocket that redshirt though.

    wont be suprised either. there's going to be battles between shane and DG in fall camp. who ever performs better in practices during the season will get the job

  • Starting to think Bellomy is a career backup. It will be the Devin show next season and then Shane will take the reigns his redshirt freshman year.

    Unless Devin gets his medical redshirt, in which case Shane probably sits until 2015.

    Exactly. The coaching staff isn't going to just throw Gardner out there because he's been there longer. The best player will play.

  • Sounding like Bellomy might be done for good with Borges looking for a 3rd string QB... Coaches better hit the recruiting trail and find another 21013 QB so they aren't scrambling next year if a QB goes down like they have this year.

    Where is this coming from? I just find it odd that he gets his first extended PT, does horrible and now a week later people are talking about his career being done.
