What is amazing about their line of thinking, 3 of their wins have been by less than a TD. The only games that they have won by more than that were against MAC schools. They want to preach about being 4 plays away from 1 loss, well they are also 3 plays away from being a 2 win team under that criteria.

The only game they put away was Central. Every other team had a chance to win in the final half of the 4th quarter, even Eastern. They were down by ONLY 2 pts with 7:30 to play. EMU!
According to them since their losses are all close ones they should get extra points for them

Spartans fans have not adjusted well.
It still hasn't dawned upon them that Michigan and Ohio will seek to occupy the throne of the B1G.
State's small resurgence under Dantonio (which coincided with Michigan's fall) was an illusion.

IMO they are struggling with the fact they deep inside know their whole "Big Ten power" mirage is over. Every time something goes wrong, a few posters come in with something like "oh well back to mediocrity.." "oh same old Spartans I guess.." only to be set upon with a raging fury that they normally reserve for Michigan fans who took a wrong turn in East Lansing.
There's basically three groups there: 1) MSU will be mediocre again, Dantonio's just another clown like the ones before him 2) MSU is a Big Ten power and will soon compete for the NC, these are just obstacles put in our way by corrupt refs etc. 3) This is a down year but Dantonio is a good coach and will have us win more than we lose, let's keep our nerves. There will be years like this and years where we contend.
3) is the closest to reality imo but I hope they get caught up in it all and they self-destruct and the program utterly unravels to Indiana rather than Purdue status.
