  • Dodson, a 2012 soft Wisconsin OT commit is leaning towards taking an official to Michigan for his fifth and final visit. I don't think he ends up at Wisconsin.

I kinda feel like you are right, I think this kid may be seeing that Wisky's little run is slightly on the decline and the Big Dogs are back.

He has not specified but he will be visiting USC Jan 13th so probably after that. He said he will not make a final decision until after that last visit.

Yep. The fact they are even considering bringing in Dayne Crist as another one-and-done tells you they have zero confidence in their QB situation behind Wilson. Another stop-gap attempt to get through a season, but this time going after a veteran QB who was benched after one half of one game, compared to Wilson who was fantastic his 4th year at NC-State.

The other big factor could be that Michigan and OSU both have serious needs on the OL, whereas Wisconsin typically doesn't play their OL recruits for a few years.

There has been so much talk about Michigan and Ohio St. and these recruits are taking notice. I believe it will come down to the Wolverines and Ohio again.

  • Anyone know how many OL OSU wants to take? I know they have a total of 5 spots left.

Dodson has got to be a OSU lean though. But with the other guys Meyer is after, it leaves a lot open.

Pretty sure they have two more. They think it will be Diamond and Dodson.

Don't know numbers, but they are desperate for an OT or two. They have two OG's committed, but both are 3* types and on the small side (6'2"/6'3" ~270lbs). With only one OT in the 2011 class, one (albeit a stud in Norwell) in 2010, and talks that TE Reid Fragel could move to the OL this offseason, I would bet they are hoping to get two true OTs in this class.

  • How much has the Michigan staff been in contact with Dodson? I haven't heard much about him being interested with Michigan. Obvioulsy the recruiting world changes by the minute, but I am curious if it's too late in the process.

They are also making a run at Joey O'Connor.

  • Was it Dodson who said Michigan was his number 2 choice when he committed to Wisconsin or am I thinking of someone else?

You saw exactly what I was doing there, agreed.

Osu needs tackles soo bad. They are at the point of desperation. I'm confident that urban can fill the needs somehow

yes he did and Dan Voltz did too but he will stay committed. If nobody takes the spot before Dodson he could be a part of this class

Yeah, we are definitely taking one more and we are in on Garnett, Diamond, Kozan and Dodson. I would love to get Garnett, but really it's splitting hairs to a large degree. As long as we get one of them, we will have a killer OL class. Also, I'm getting the feeling that Michigan and Ohio are gearing up for a renewed battle of the titans in the B10, especially in recruiting, and that Wisky and PSU the other teams are just going to be like innocent bystanders caught in the crossfire. It's nothing personal, it's just business.

Agreed but Urban is just offering whoever Hoke offers. LTT got offered by OSU right after Michigan offered.

Yeah, I saw that. Honestly, it's a compliment. Hoke must be doing something right if Urbie is hot on his heels. And I'm not afraid of Urbie. He absolutely can't be worse for us than the Vest. It is just not possible.

Yeah because OSU was recruiting LTT so hard. Michigan was on him the whole time then OSU offered him out of no wheres. You don't even know who LTT is

  • I had forgotten the Dodson story that we were his second choice. I think we will definitely get a solid OL to complete the class now...best OL class in the country, bar none.
