Jon Reschke is a boss

  • In a recent Detroit News article profiling the best and worst experiences of the top prospects this year in Michigan, Reschke said this about his worst moment:

Worst recruiting experience: "Before I committed (to MSU) I took a (unofficial) visit to Ohio State and met the new coach (Urban Meyer). He seemed kind of arrogant. He showed me his (championship) rings. He had like 14 of them. And he said to me he wanted me to be a part of it. But he didn't offer me a scholarship. I thought that was strange."

Moral of the story is disingenuous and urban meyer are one in the same

  • And yet recruits keep falling for it. Glad he's not my coach.

  • Scumbag in every sense. At least Tressel TRIED to portray himself as a decent person. Meyer is probably the most wretched human being coaching college football right now. He doesn't even care about his own family.

Funny thing is OSU fans absolutely despised him for the way he swayed Shariff Floyd from OSU to Florida, but now they'll never say a bad word about him.

As a fellow Rice guy, I will always like this guy. I don't doubt what he said, but it might be viewed as sour grapes.

Anyway, this is also why Meyer doesn't do as well with line recruiting. Those players are more grit than flash. Meyer will get kids who are more into flash or their own ego than other people.

I think this is why his Florida teams had so many discipline problems and they did not face adversity well.

The age old saying is true. The team takes on the HC's personality. Meyer is flash and then quitting when the going gets tough. His teams will likely share those traits.

MSU isn't a very good football program.. takes year of consistent winning to get to that level. - copemoney 1/22/13

I have to say that I would very proud if my boys goings to CC. I live Rice, but age has shown me how arrogant some of us can be. I don't get that feeling from CC and it is as good of a school.

My kids attend(ed) a different catholic HS in the area. There's pros and cons to every school.

  • Urbie Liar was on the radio the other day. He said OSU is a very hard school to get into, and they don't have any cupcake majors. The players seem to disagree on that one. He also doesn't use the word Michigan. He calls us "tsun" or "our rivals". Weird how Ohio fans get butthurt when we call them Ohio yet their coach doesn't call us Michigan.

  • See I love kids like this. They are able to see through the coaches and are able to see their true colors and what they are really worth to them as a student athlete. That's exactly what I thought Da'Shawn Hand saw in Urban. Urban figured he was like most flashy DL guys and showed him all the championships and stuff and didn't really worry about the academic aspect or what he as a kid will learn. That's why I believe he loves the Michigan staff as a whole because its more than just football, and to just think Hand hasn't even visited is just crazy in my mind! Our coaching staff is doing it right and how it should be done. Go MF BLUE!

When Urban Meyer was still HC of the Gators, a Gainesville radio station reported that Urban Meyer had been fooling around with a co-ed. (While this is probably true, no one has confirmed it yet.)

But we know that Shelley Meyer had an affair with her daughter's HS volleyball coach.

Yep. CC is a good school. I believe it is much better than BR or DLS.
