Indiana Goes Down, Michigan Controls Its Own Fate

  • Indiana went down on the road to Minnesota tonight, which means that they are now only one game up on Michigan, MSU, and Wisconsin. If Michigan wins its remaining 4 games (PSU, MSU, PUR, IU), it will at least get a share of the Big Ten title. This should add some spice to all of the Wolverines' remaining games and could potentially create a showdown in Ann Arbor for the title.

Tough task for the young Wolverines.

Good news is that both of the big games are at home. Beating MSU and IU is no easy task, but odds are that Michigan will be favored in both games, which has to at least be a good sign.

    True, but very achievable.

  • Hopefully Jordan Morgan is healthy enough the rest of the year to give us meaningful minutes. I just don't think we can beat both MSU and Indiana without him on D.

  • Also, Florida just lost to Tennessee. Some sites still had Florida as a projected one seed, so this could be big for Michigan come tournament time. Tomorrow night, another possible one seed, Georgetown, goes on the road to Connecticut which could be another upset.

  • MSU-Michigan game just got more real. Sparty remaining games i believe are not as harrowing. What recruits are coming in for that game/ bball and Fball wise?

MSU is in the middle of the tough stretch that Michigan played earlier in the season. Have vs Wisky and vs Northwestern left after the game at Crisler. I'm hoping we don't play like we did at OSU - if we do, Burke's going to score at least 30 on us.

If we play like we have in the last 3-4 games, we'll get embarrassed by MSU and IU at home.

Close wins against Illinois and PSU at home and a blowout loss to MSU haven't really inspired my confidence, sorry.

I agree with Willy that the Illinois 2nd half was good, but overall we just haven't looked very good shrug. I have no doubt in my mind that we can beat absolutely anyone if we play well, though.

TBH I think the loss of Jordan Morgan really hurt our defense over the past few weeks. And as he gets closer and closer to.returning to 100%, I think our defense will improve noticeably. FWIW he only played about five minutes in the first half against Illinois and about 12 minutes in the second half. It made a big difference IMO. We need him against Sparty and IU and for the NCAA. Keep your fingers crossed his recovery continues at a good pace.
