If we lose this game....

  • ...its not because of the injury, its on the coaches for not having our backup(s) better prepared. Sure the wr's aren't helping a lot, but this is bad. Our D will begin to wear down quickly w all these 3 & outs

Yeah, clearly. 1-11 with an int and a grand total of about -10 yards in this game. Wtf is wrong with you. Asking about my "inside info" then your highly intelligent above response. Who spiked your kool aid

Please, tell us, how many extra snaps in the Purdue game would have turned Russell Bellomy into a competent backup QB?

It isn't koolaid. It is the fact kid isn't ready. It isn't that the coaches haven't been coaching him up, it is the fact that the kid isn't ready physically or mentally. If you are dumb enough to think that coaches haven't been preparing their 2-deep and 3-deep kids, then that is on your dumbass.

    xxmgobluexx

  • Oh, sorry, to answer your ?, my super duper double top secret inside info from a highly trusted and nationally respected source (aka "common sense") is bellomy should've had a half dozen series in that Purdue game. Game was over in 2nd qtr. Might not have as bad of a deer in headlights qb right now.

Oh really, shocking revelation, not ready physically or mentally. Thanks for the update Tom brojaw. Exactly my point. I don't think he's this bad of a qb, I think he is choking under the pressure. Pressure that MAY have been somewhat alleviated had he been put into previous game(s), w Purdue having been a golden opportunity. But anyways, at least you didn't put words in my mouth and throw 2 personal attacks all in 1 sentence. Way to keep it classy xx

So if Purdue wouldn't have prepared him for this, what should Michigan have done? Put him in versus MSU or something along those lines?

No, you are a dumbass if you think the coaches haven't done everything possible to prepare the 1st string, 2nd string and other depth players as much as possible. A few more snaps vs Purdue doesn't change how bad of a player Bellomy is at this point. Keep telling us how a few more snaps changes how Bellomy is playing tonight, coach.

  • In my opinion, this makes moving Gardner to wr a huge mistake. Can't do that if your back up is going to lay an egg like this.

Wow, there you go again w the personal attacks and the class. I see you ran out of downvotes, also, take note of the fact I haven't voted on any of the garbage you brought to this thread. So sorry I offended you by actually having the stones to have an opinion that is for once not favorable of our coach(s). Ill cut you a little slack though, you are in high school still, I believe.

Careful, man, careful. XX may get upset w you, call you names, use all his downvotes on you, and put words in your mouth, repeatedly, all for just stating an opinion different from his which is so insightful and holier than thou.

  • What did I tell you all? Has nothing to do with the coaches.... Bellomy overthrew wide open WR's, threw in double coverage, looked panic the whole game. Great Kid, but he is not ready at all. And if you're one of those people that will blame this on him choking under the pressure ...then you're an idiot. That's part of sports, if you can't handle it then you shouldn't be in the ball game. Like I said before, Shane Morris WILL be the QB next year. I think all questions have been answered about Bellomy after tonight. Nuff said.

I don't think it's fair at all to say that all questions about Bellomy have been answered after tonight. The dude was enjoying himself talking to the coaches upstairs and not planning on breaking a sweat and then was thrust into a game at night on the road when we were trailing. He's not going to come in and set the world on fire. He's just not ready yet.

Much like 2000 when Drew Henson got hurt and Navarre came in, he looked like shit against the decent competition that Michigan played, but was more than serviceable from 2001-2003 when he was expected/competing to be the starter.

He'll get an opportunity next year, and if he's better than Shane, he'll get the job.

I am not offended, nothing you say could offend me, I don't care what dumbasses post on message boards. Sorry about downvoting you, here is an upvote to make you feel better.

Being thrust into the game at night on the road has nothing to do with it. He was not even serviceable, accurate, or poised to any degree. There are plenty of backups in the country that come in and do a great job in hostile situations. Just to give you a few: Vaz (Oregon St), Thompson (South Carolina), Kenny Guiton (OSU), Indiana's backup, Kentucky's backup, and that's just off the top of my head. No excuses, one man goes down....next man up. Glad Bellomy is a Michigan Man, but he is not our QB for the future and if he is, then we're in major trouble.

Guess I couldn't disagree more. I think it is on the coaches and part of why he sucked so bad tonight was the (unexpected) pressure. If he just flat out sucks this bad, coaches should've recruited a better backup to DR/potentially eventual starter. If he doesn't really suck this bad, the coaches have done a poor job developing a kid that has only known the Hoke/borgess system. If they recruited a good enough qb, developed him good enough (supposedly added 15lbs of muscle in offseason which is impressive for a kid his size), then he just flat out choked tonight. Should've seen gametime vs bama, umass, and Purdue IMO. Doesn't mean it would've changed anything tonight but I would've felt a hell of a lot better w him coming out on the field. But what do I know, I'm just an idiot, (and dumb, and a dumbass)
