  • After Michigan, no order:

Texas - Great in everything - school, football, town, girls
Washington - Good school, very similar to if Michigan were just outside Seattle, can be big time when they're good
USC - Weather, women, public school size student body in a private school, a lot to do on Socal
Stanford - Weather, location, great degree & networking
Wisconsin - Good school & great town, great fanbase

They're all top-level programs - I don't really know how much facilities would sway me. They're either great or not. It's what pushed me to USC over UCLA. The coaching stability would be important to me.

I wouldn't want to play for an SEC school. Even if it's outdated to some, I enjoy the idea of student-athletes representing a school and the means used to see to their ends don't interest me at all.

  • 1. Michigan - duh?
    2. Alabama - women, weather, winning
    3. Northwestern - LOVE Chicago
    4. UNLV - Probably get kicked out of school for partying on the strip though biggrin
    5. Stanford - Great education/great place to live.

Those would be my five hats and five official visits

    Great topic Steve

Maybe it's just under the assumption that UofM would be on there shrug

  • It would depend on what position I played, but the 3 locks would be:

    1. Michigan - Education, football, location, history, total package
    2. Texas - Education, football, history, women
    3. Stanford - Education, football, heard Palo Alto was nice

Other schools in the mix for 4 and 5 would be Miami FL, FSU, LSU, Bama, UGA, USC (as long as Kiffen is gone, if he was still there they would have 0 chance), UCLA, NW, Wisconsin (only if I were an OL or RB), Vandy (only if Franklin were still there), UNC, SCAR, VT.

  • Here's the flip side.

    250. tOSU. The list of why is too long for this space.
    249. Spartanville. Thinking about them makes me feel dirty.
    248. ND. I lived by it and know it well...I try to avoid arrogant people.
    247. That's about it. A free ride anywhere is a thing of beauty.

  • 1. Michigan, How could you not.
    2. FSU, Fast defense
    3. Miami. At one time a bad @ss defense
    4. Bama, Great defense
    5. Texas, Crazy football culture, Defense is so and so, but they do have some talented DBs walk through their doors.

  • I also would like to visit BMS. They have great tradition and great parties.

If you asked me before I spent 6 years living in California, Michigan would've been #1. But nowadays, NYC is the absolute coldest climate I can tolerate, and even here I basically try to not ever leave my apartment during the winter months.

    1) Stanford. Great school and better weather than Michigan. Sorry Moon.
    2) Michigan
    The rest don't matter

    OSU

No UCLA? They seem to fit that bill to an extent.

  • A lot of cold weather wimps here baby surprised there aren't more Wisconsin or Washington choices. Both great schools with great stadiums and better looking girls than Michigan. A little less hippy Michigan, in my minds. Less tradition as well, of course...

Maybe they could get a visit but if I am going to Cali it would be for Stanford. If i couldn't get into Stanford i would be all about Michigan then.

I wouldn't look at Miami or FSU, but UF is a very good school. They have really good academics, fine women, nice weather, and are an annual natty contender. What's not to like about UF?

It's in Florida. I have no interest in living in Florida and I say that as just my own personal preference.

    Fair enough.

If it were me, and I couldn't choose Michigan, I'd probably end up at UF.

  • Michigan - The obvious
    Oregon - uniforms
Arizona St - family and I can't stand RR
    Texas - girls
    Alabama - championships

  • All of this would change depending on the position I played, but here's my list regardless.

    1) Michigan - Education, great campus, and the tradition.

    2) Notre Dame - As much as I hate them, they have arguably the top b-school in the nation and they are similar to Michigan tradition wise

    3) UNC - Great school and weather along with an awesome campus

    4) USC - Not the greatest b-school, but that's offset by the location. Plus great team, girls, and weather.

    5) Cornell - Great education, close to home, and I'd be able to dominate the competition for 4 years then enter the draft.

I really hate hot weather, so I'd most likely stick with picking a midwestern team, but I'm sure I'd change my mind after talking to some of the coaches of SEC schools.

  • 1. MSU - Couldn't have it any other way. Playing football as a Spartan would be fulfilling a dream.
    2. Stanford - Academics is top notch, the weather is fantastic, and they have a solid football program.
    3. Texas - Has a solid engineering program, among others, and playing football in Texas would be pretty phenomenal.
    4. Harvard - The football program may not be top notch, but with a Harvard degree you can basically get whatever job you want.
    5. Michigan - because I'm on your board, I'll include the bad guys on my list.
