We don't know if it'll be 5 years, 10 years, or 15. The landscape of college football and the premier coaches will be much different by then.
Mike Hart or Tyrone Wheatley could be big time coaches who would get a chance, or one of our assistants like Montgomery could step up. Charles Woodson might wanna coach or some other name that hasn't surfaced yet.
That being said, Jon Gruden. (not serious)

I rather focus on now and have Michigan win B1G championships and beat the living crud out of ohio than worry about when this coach retires.
BUT. If you want me to answer this HYPOTHETICAL question, I think Jim Harbaugh. I know, I know I'm gonna catch flack for this, but I just have a gut feeling he'll be back someday. Kind of like how Steve Yzerman left the Wings to become GM of the Lightning, I think when Ken Holland steps down as GM of the Wings, he'll be back.

This is so true. I have no idea. I would imagine we will get a good 12-15 yrs out of Brady if things go as we hope. I think the better question is who will replace Mattison when he retires. I would think he is the closest to retiring on the staff.

not kicking him to the curb. We had this same discussion when he was hired on other message boards. Brady isn't exactly young and neither is our DC. Look at what Hoke has done to this team already, he has vastly improved the defense, found a running game outside of Denard, and made it so Denard gets hurt less. Look at the recruiting class Michigan has coming in.

Exactly. The days of coaches like Bo with 21 seasons at one school are coming to an end. Once JoePa resigns/is fired after this season, it will be the end of an era of coaches who have 15+ year tenures IMO. Kind of sad to think about.

Not necessarily.
If Al Golden gets the job at PSU (his alma mater), then I don't think he will leave. To his credit, Golden is young...as in just 41 years old.
Also, Bret Bielema is 41 and is in his 6th season at Wisconsin. That means he became HC in his mid 30s. However, I don't know if Bielema has any NFL aspirations.
Kirby Smart is another guy that's very young who might stay 15+ years as HC at an elite job. I know that he covets the Georgia job.
