Really? You BARELY won last year, over a team that was the worst OSU team since 1887..... Wow, congrats!! beat on your chest some more...you won by a few points, and now you are KICKING ASS!! haha....that's funny.....don't be surprised when OSU fans come back at ya if they win this year....y'all act like you've dominated them, might wanna look at the last 11 years instead of just last years game....

When I look back on the Tressel era, here's what I see when I exclude the Rich Rod years:
Games in Ann Arbor: - 2001. Ohio won by 6 points. 26-20. - 2003. Michigan won by 14 points. 35-21. - 2005. Ohio won by 4. 25-21. - 2007. Ohio won by 11. 14-3.
2 of Ohio's 3 wins with Tressel as HC (against Carr) was by less than a touchdown.
Games in Columbus: - 2002 Ohio won by 5 points. 14-9. - 2004. Ohio won by 16 points. 37-21. - 2006. Ohio won by 3 points. 42-39.
2 of Michigan 3 losses with Carr as HC (against Tressel) was by less than a touchdown.
In other words, Tressel won a number of close games against Michigan. A bounce of the ball in those games and the results could've been significantly different.
Who's to say that Michigan won't fare much better in close games under Hoke/Mattison/Borges?

+1 for you from an unusual source. Perhaps I'm in the vast minority of Buckeye opinion, but I would much rather see a Hoke v Tress battle in Nov. Nothing against the new regime but I tend to enjoy this game for what it is at its root...two teams, two coaches, two Fan bases who get it.
The above comment perfectly illustrates why I love our rivalry. The perfect combination of hatred and respect. Good luck this year and we'll see you for the annual meeting of the greatest game in CFB!

also, Tressel LOVED to shut down any offense we may have if we had a lead.....drove me crazy...almost cost us several games over the years....he relied on his defense way too much to hold leads. I believe you teach your players to try to score every time they have the ball...it's up to the other team to stop you....when 2nd string is in, they deserve to try to score too....they don't practice to go in and sit on the ball....
So, in short, many of our close games were due to Tressel loving to punt and play defense with a lead....

Soooooo, by your comparing ONLY L. Carr years against tOSU, does that mean last years Buckeye team under Fickell should be as easily discarded nas the Rich Rod years? You failed to list the losses under Rich Rod, which weren't as close as you wanted to post....Here's one difference, we only had one year that will be a blip on the screen, and you barely won that game against a freshman QB that had no idea how to play QB....I hope Hoke does bring you guys back to the Bo days, I prefer "The Game" being for all the marbles....I'm not among the Buckeye fans that think we will go undefeated this year, although I do believe 10 wins are doable....I will take 4 losses as long as we win the last one of the year....next year, team could be special... will have a lot of talent back and some more freshman that are the types that will fill roles needed that we don't have now...

To all the buckeyes who think they will just get back to the same type of ball that was played when Tressel was in charge WAKE UP!! Urban needed quite possibly the best player ever in college football to win at UF, a team that recruited the lights out of OSU!! Once Tebow left, Urban failed miserably. For those that think he's just gonna come into the B1G and run the show you are highly delusional. Braxton, yes, a great talent is no Tebow or Alex Smith. Urban's staff have shown no ability to develop talent like the staffs at Iowa, Wisconsin, or MSU have. The B1G as a whole is no longer scared of Mighty OSU. Spread offenses do not sustain in the B1G, just ask UM, MSU, PU, and ILL. If MSU loses this year I'll come back to eat crow, but I was also the same guy that asked you OSU fans last year what would happen if MSU won in cbus and 98% of you gave Dantonios squad (the man that delivered your only recent championship) zero chance. I didn't come and gloat, I like talking football.... But to act like UM (wow his initials are the same as your arch rivals) is going to take a 6 win team and make them undefeated with a tougher schedule I'd have to ask, what are you smoking!? My father and 2 of my best friends are huge buckeyes and to be quite honest, OSU was respectable and a team I'd root for over Michigan. But lately the mix of Clarett, Pryor, Meyer, and the majority of the buckeye fan base' we're Osu, we're the best, and everyone else is beneath us is just sickening! I hope Meyer fails miserably, not for the players who work their butts off, but for the disgraceful fans OSU has been recently known for and the attitude of Meyer himself. It's a shame Tressel stood up for a couple dumbass athletes you had.... That was a man of character, one that should make a University and conference proud. but you(Osu) are no longer his, and your football team has now become hated by all because of a man that will likely be gone once Braxton has moved on. You are no longer the juggernaut you we're just a short time ago.

Horrible argument for your OC. Okie State had the 4th worst defense in college last year. Torching them is not impressive. Your OC hire is a total stretch and Werriner is not that great of an oline coach, see ND's rushing yardage. And yes your DC was a stretch too, besides Clemson, what ACC offense is in the top 25 in scoring? Pretty easy to have a good D when no one in the conference can put points on the board. But please go on acting like these hires are top notch.

Meh. Nobody is scared of Urban. With that said I hope everybody and their mothers kick the ever living shit out of MSU this year. Somehow after 2 good years(yes MSU fans 2 not 4 good years) they think they belong in the conversation as a good football program. Dantonio and his band of douchebags(MSU fans included) need to be knocked back down to where they belong.
