How do we get to Indy?

  • Does Nebraska need to lose to an inter-division team only for us to have a shot? If they lose to PSU, we are still tied in the division and they have the tie breaker? Are loses inter-divison, and their loss against Ohio weighted equally? Really sux that 1 pernicious play can literally change the course of the season.

    it doesn't matter who they lose to legends or leaders, all losses count towards big ten record. if they lose to psu and we win our next three, we will go to indy

  • The first determinant is conference record, not division record. We just need Nebraska to lose one more and we need to win out.

  • I'm not going to lie, I'm going to be incredibly upset if the only reason we miss out on the B1G Championship is Nebraska getting incredibly lucky and injuring Denard at just the right time.

    I don't think it's unreasonable to say that if Denard stays in that game, we win, and if the DG that showed up yesterday had been inserted to replace Denard, we'd also have won. Our defense played lights out for much of the game, but there's only so much they can do when our QB is so bad that the defense barely gets a breather. It kills me because I think we're far and away the best team in our division, and (arguably) the best team in the B1G.

    we are better than ND and NU but it's football and teams get lucky, When hoke gets his players in couple years, we wont have to worry about beating ourselves and loosing to teams we know we're better than.

    Just doesn't feel comforting right now knowing the team really should be playing in Indy.

    Not sure who I'd pick to win, but Penn State should give Nebraska a great game. And Iowa could be fighting for a bowl berth on Senior Day at home, so that won't be an automatic win for the Huskers either.

    I don't know if we'll beat Nebraska, but if our offense plays to its potential I believe we could beat a lot of teams out there. They just make too many mistakes.

    First drive: 3 and out
    second drive: Drive to Neb 36, missed FG
    third drive: one first down, then punt
    fourth drive: Drive to Neb 35, made FG
    fifth drive: Drive to Neb 8, poised to score a TD, Denard gets hurt.

    The offense was doing fine against Nebraska. We were just starting to get into rhythm. There's no reason to not believe that we wouldn't have won that game if Denard stayed in. Think about it. Nebraska started 2 drives already in FG range due to the inept offense under Bellomy. The defense gave up 17 real points, you really don't think we were capable of getting 20-24 points?

  • Neb certainly has the inside track. Tiebraker in hand and the easier remaining 3 games. Having said that, I have more faith in Hoke getting guys ready then BoPeep. I wouldn't be completely suprised if we pull this off. The scary thing for the B10 is that we could be looking at Indiana in the championship game.
