Hood Names Top Three

  • 1. ND
    2. Michigan
    3. Ohio State

Like I said, I figured Michigan/ND would be 1-2 in some order. Now it's up to the Michigan staff to work to jump Notre Dame. I'll try to get more from Hood when he's available.

  • Nice. Would've loved to see Michigan on top, but to jump up to #2 is excellent. Hopefully the coaches can put in some more work right now, I'd love to see Hood be our RB for this cycle.

  • I still want to hear what his timeline will be now.

He said he enjoyed his Michigan visit more, albeit "just a little bit". The shorter the timeline, the more it bodes well for Notre Dame though, definitely.

Not to be stupid, but if he enjoyed his Michigan visit more, how is ND #1?

Yup. We definitely have to hope that he extends his timeline. I think the BBQ would be the type of event that resonates with Hood more than something like a spring game. So, in my opinion, for Michigan to have a shot, his timeline needs to be extended to the end of summer.

In any case, we again saw that Michigan's coaches make a huge impression when kids get on campus. A top flight RB is more a luxury than a need in the 2014 cycle given the haul last year and the interested prospects in 2015. I'd love to see Hood go blue, but regardless of his decision Michigan is in great shape at RB and with Hoke and staff steering the Wolverine ship.

Not sure. I caught him just as he was heading out of Ann Arbor; maybe he was just overly pumped up about it, which would make sense.

He probably just enjoyed it a bit more than this particular visit to ND (which makes sense, the surprise/eye-opening factor for us is huge, and he already knew what to expect at ND) but overall, ND's still out front.

I am somewhat bummed he has ND still #1. If his decision time is still 1-2 months, will be tough to leap ND.

Steve, do you think Hood is in the "elite" tier of RBs this year? I don't think OSU has much of a shot, but the kid still looks pretty darn good to me. cheers

  • He has us at number three without even meeting Meyer yet. Not saying at all he would put us number 1, but he also did not get our best foot forward yet. Will be interesting to see if he decides he wants to come back again to get some time with Urbs. If he does, we will have as good a shot as any

#3 means squat if the distance between #2 and #3 is the Grand Canyon.

This mentality has to stop. No position is a "luxury". We need elite players at every position year in and year out. Also, If Hood wants to/is considering going blue, he will extend his timeline to make the appropriate visits to make that determination.

His visit was more enjoyable hanging out with 10 other high school recruits then having a 1 on 1 with B. Kelly all afternoon, but apparently thats good for #2 on his list right now.

    #2 actually means squat also

Except the gap between #1 and #2 is much smaller than the gap between #2 and #3.

I wonder if potential playing time is a factor in his ranking ND No. 1 after enjoying his visit to Michigan more? DG and the boys are formidable.

I assume you haven't seen the RBs ND has signed in the last two classes...
