Yep, makes sense to me. He didn't seem to have the quick twitch and speed to stay with the WRs at corner. He is also a strong tackler. but that's what the spring is for, see what could work and get snaps for players.

It makes sense to me. He really lacked the athleticism to play corner and nickel, imo.

Could that mean Thomas gets a look at nickel if Avery can play safety? Allowing Thomas time to adjust and learn the defense while still getting PT from his athleticism and instincts.

Whatever gets him playing time. It'll be nice to have a big nickel too, considering the other teams we play.
