I'm very interested to see if a summer visit materializes. I think it will be very telling if he makes it back in the summer. And I don't think it's necessarily a bad sign if he doesn't, just a very positive one if he does.

The same way Drake Harris did not switch from basketball to football because of Urban Meyer offering, I do not think Hand switched from engineering to sports management with one visit to Michigan. If he is serious about sports management, he has been thinking about it for a while. Countess is in the program, so it's apparent the coaches knew where his academic interests were focused days/weeks in advance.

Agreed. I wonder if Michigan would work the BBQ around Hand's schedule??

I think this is the right way to look at it too. Not a bad thing if he doesn't, but a really good thing if he does.

If he is as serious about academics as he seems than I think we have a really good chance of landing him. Va Tech and UNC are good schools as well but Michigan's coaches and the players in the '14 class could give us the edge.

I saw on another thread that an Ohio fan asked Hand if they would get another visit, and he said "nah"

That would make sense. The first letter has the shape of a K, L, or an E, but I don't think there are any end players that have a first name that start with L or E.

I don't think there's any chance whatsoever this happens. For all we know, the coaches value Drake Harris more than they do Da'Shawn Hand. If they reschedule the BBQ to suit one recruit, that would rub many other recruits the wrong way. If he makes it, great. If not, he will be here for UTL round II, which is 10x more important IMO.
If we're still near the lead in his recruitment for the ND game, and the atmosphere is electric, I strongly feel it will put Michigan over the top for him. For those who were there two years ago, I'm sure you'd echo the sentiment that it would be nearly impossible for a recruit to walk away from that environment and not want to play football at Michigan.
We have the coaches Hand wants, we have the academics no matter which of the three fields he enters (engineering, business, sports management) and on September 7th, we will show him the environment that makes Michigan unparalleled.
