Are you the kind of OSU fan that think's every recruit is an OSU lean?

Green is not going to OSU IMO. I did not like our chances at first, but feel much more confident we have a legitimate shot at him now.

I think heading into the BBQ, Michigan sits behind all those except Pitt (pile on). He has yet to sit down and talk to Brady Hoke about anything. Bringing the family to Ann Arbor will go a long way. Enough to make up the room? I'm not sure. Would love to see it, but not counting on it and will be presently surprised if we land him

This is exactly how I feel

I'm not real sure how you can time OSU out based on the offense they will run, unless you know something that all the rest of us buckeye fans don't. I would say it would be more accurate to rule out OSU based on the fact that they have much better RB depth than most of the other teams on his list. Probably better than about all of them with the exception of bama. That said I'm not sure you can rule out OSU at all, I tend to agree with the above poster who said its an OSU/Clemson battle, but I think he ends up at Clemson.

Hey, do you think you guys will run a versatile o like we did with multiple fronts and formations. Clearly by what you are saying you are not sure of what to expect.

I am not exactly sure what to expect. I think there will be a lot of wrs on the field and that's about it. I think Urban is a good enough coach to tailor his attack to the strengths of his players. Braxton is clearly a dynamic runner who needs to work on accuracy and decision making. With hall out the majority of the backs on the roster fit the traditional B1G mold of power with some speed to go with. I think there will be a lot of plays with run reads for Braxton, but I'm not real sure how the rest comes together. Urb seems to be recruiting a mix of bigger backs as well as scar types, so clearly I think he wants to mix in some power run plays

I do not see OSU anywhere near the top. they run a completely different offense than Green wants to play in. As for Clemson, I think Michigan offers much more. We shall see how this turns out. He was leaning Auburn not long ago. They have all of a sudden fallen off? Doubt it.

How do you know what type of offense OSU will run? Meyer has said it will be a hybrid - none of us know for sure. If you have followed his recruitment as closely as some of us, you would know that OSU is the team to beat. It really depends if Meyer wants him or not and puts the heat on him. He was close to committing to OSU until the new coaching staff came in and they cooled on him a bit. OSU is freakishly loaded at RB and already has a committment from one of the best for 2013. We have less schollies and more pressing needs than RB (OL, WR, and safety). If Meyer wants Green, OSU will get him.

Oh, so Meyer just didn't want any of the top OLs in the country?

As an OSU fan I would say its a stretch to say this. If Tressel was there still he would be a buckeye IMO, but he's not. I continue to think Clemson is the team to beat with OSU trailing.

It sounds exactly like our o but headed in opposite directions. Although o know our coordinator loved some of the aspects our offense has with the spread. I think we will run power I but mix in plenty of read options as well.
It will be interesting that's for sure. For the first time in a long time I can't wait to watch your team take the field.

No way. Why would Green - who professes to want a pro-style offense, immerse himself in a spread offense? OSU buck nuts are kidding themselves as usual. It is Clemson, Auburn, Michigan, and Bama.

Maybe I should clarify, Clemson is leading and everyone after that is even. How you contradict yourself by saying he professes to want a pro style offense and then list 2 spread teams and Michigan who I know wants to move to pro style, but as of yet hasn't and aren't going to this season with Robinson there is beyond me. I guess based on your thinking Bama is the clear leader, the only pro style team you listed among your 4. Again I know Michigan wants to move to a pro style, but Green will not see any of that this year. I read that Urban wants to have power running mixed into his spread and that's all I really know. I'm willing to bet that you don't know any more about what Urban is going to run than me or any other Buckeye or UM fans do which is very little. I agree that Buckeye fans that think OSU leads for him are dreaming, but you seem to think they have no shot, which I disagree with. I know you have some vip threads on your board about Green, the contents of which I am not privy to, but Im not sure there is any public information to support the idea that he is more likely to sign with UM than OSU. Sorry for the rambling and I hope this isn't viewed as a flame type thread because it isn't.

  • I think all speculation on his leader and/or how far behind we are is arbitrary until he sits down and talks to coach Hoke. We have the best sales pitch of his final teams IMO. A soon to be prostyle offense that he can be the centerpiece of, a monster O-line, and thin (elite) RB depth. If he meets with Hoke and walks out, without us moving towards the top of his list, then our chances with him are dead IMO. However, I could very well see him proclaiming us as one of his leaders after speaking with Hoke. The guy has worked plenty of magic before. Following the BBQ, all I'm interested in seeing with Green is how much he talks about his meet and greet with Hoke, and whether he will use an official to come out for a game. Until then, I do not believe that Green will join Treadwell to round out this class.

There is no info. We need to wait and hear from him after these next few visits. Things could change for him after any one of them. Michigan and osu trail imho but both coaches have a way with recruits. Michigan has early pt and 10 guys over the last 2 classes that will be paving his way and a future offense he knows he wants to play in. There are more questions at osu ,but its his boy hood love. Let's wait and see if either of us get into a top 2 of sorts.....
